Mike:  The reason why government is so ineffective and the reason why free markets and free individuals are to be preferred.  And that’s because an individual businessman, and individual businessmen working inside of individual industries, can make decisions on the fly, lickety-split.  You can change – all right, we planned for this, we were going to sell it at this price, it’s not selling so well, we need to discount that price, and we need to do it yesterday.  Government can’t do that.  Remember that governments have to pass laws that have far-reaching consequences or extend way into the future.

We did double duty today with the announcement that there was no change in the unemployment number and at the same time the government is trying to push Health care through with even more add-ons.  Pelosi even said the health care bill was a jobs bill.  Where in "the patient protection and affordable care" is there the word jobs? So with Mr. Jefferson's support, we had to ask where the jobs are.
