Why Disaster Relief Creates Disasters

Hey folks, its Mike Church with today’s Church Doctrine.

Here we go again watching the lives of an entire civilization hanging on the brink of insolvency, despair and outright poverty if Congress does not do the right thing and fully fund federal disaster relief by Friday. Never mind that the country is running a $1.5 trillion deficit this year, whats another $5 billion between generational thieves? Why, government will shut down and millions will be starved and unwashed. Why, children will be sent home without educations and Michelle Obama approved lunches. Why, older children may have to pay for their own college. Why. you get the picture! Enquiring minds may want to know why their majestic national government has to go through this exercise every 3 months and yet arrive at the same conclusion: more spending and more debt.

This latest round of budget battles is stuck because some Republicans slipped in a provision that deprives the non–Energy Department of $1.6 billion in giveaways to car companies to develop new, green, fuel efficient cars. This say Senate Democrats would cost 10,000 jobs and that is the rub: why is Leviathans transfer of wealth now responsible for 10,000 jobs? If car manufacturers are that reliant on government subsidies and 10,000 jobs are at stake, why not lavish another $20 or $50 billion to John Deere and Caterpillar to make energy efficient combines and tractors, imagine the tens of thousands of jobs that could create!

Looked at from the kill-joys point of view though, could it not be said that the $3 Trillion annual budget is responsible 13 million jobs, all of which are funded by relocating capital from those that have it or earn it to those that do not. If you can demonstrate that this practice creates jobs at 3 times the cost of private sector employment than eliminating 50% of the national budget could actually actually create 18 million jobs could it not!? Would not that be a better way to create jobs than the green energy sinkhole we hear Senator Harry Reid and company droning on about? Of course to answer yes to any of the above makes you a heretic to our government high priests because it proves that real disaster relief comes from ending disaster relief.
