The Newest Round of 400,000 Unemployed Could Find Hope in Independence

Hey folks, its Mike Church with today’s Church Doctrine.

Another Thursday has brought yet another news release of first time unemployment claims topping 400,000. This weekly exercise in numerical masochism has become so common that it no longer seems to trouble anyone. Perhaps this is because the once great American Can-do spirit has given way to the new pantywaist spirit of why do? Yes, why bother getting all worked up over the fact that governmental paralysis seems to have settled in and the only cure is to occupy others private property and demand a share of it or cash the ol unemployment check then meet the gang for an encore of Dancing With The Stars on Tivo.

Maybe the field of candidates running for the GOP nomination are contributing to this stasis by promising tax code overhauls that are revenue neutral? After all, why would businessmen get all giddy over the promise of 4 more years of 22% confiscation of GDP and all that juicy, big government that would fund? You can call my promotion of the alternative plan out there as ideological but Ron Pauls Restore America Now plan has the benefit of at least providing hope that there could be a decrease in government and taxation.

But, on todays radio show, economist Peter Schiff told me that even Pauls plan doesnt go far enough and this shows how unbelievably steep this mountain is to climb. Schiff says that interest on the debt, Social Security and MediCare are still not dealt with in the Paul plan and therefore the end will still come, just not as quickly. This means that any hope the newest round of 400,000 unemployed and millions of underemployed have is to create their own jobs and even this has become more difficult because of the remaining manufacturing infrastructure we have left that has not been sold for scrap or relocated to China.

So what hopeful thing can i say to the unemployed? Read everything you can about 1776  and learn how to spell, speak and declare Independence.
