• King Charles III spoke to Congress yesterday and there was a white tux event at the White House in the evening.
• You live in your Louisiana Emirate, then you can make them even smaller than that.
• There is too much political intrigue to get into the whole thing but POTUS didn’t mention anything about it yesterday.
• The UAE decided to leave OPEC.
• Why do we have OPEC?
• OPEC – OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) acts as a cartel to coordinate, unify, and manage oil production among member countries to stabilize oil markets. Its primary functions are setting production targets to influence oil prices, securing a steady income for producers, and ensuring an efficient supply of petroleum to consumers.
• Now when are gas prices the highest?
• Typically summer and that is due to families taking summer vacations.
• Remember when Obama was president and oil was up over $100 a barrel? Gas prices were around $5 a gallon.

HEADLINE: UK Borrowing Costs Hit Highest Since 2008 as Oil Tops $111 by City AM

• The government’s borrowing costs have risen to their joint highest level since the 2008 financial crisis, after a sharp jump in the oil price prompted a sell-off in UK debt because of concerns over inflation.
• Do people really understand what is going on here?
• Summer is almost here, what could possibly go right?
• Why did we invite King Charles to come to the US?
• Why was he given a joint session of Congress to speak at?
• What made him think it was okay to lecture us about who we should assist in war efforts?

HEADLINE: Evidence Young People Are Turning To Christianity Isn’t Anecdotal — It’s Real by Nathanael Blake

• “42% of men aged 18-29 now say religion is ‘very important’ in their lives — a sharp jump from just 28% in 2022-2023. Monthly religious attendance among young men has climbed to 40% (up from 33%), the highest level in over a decade.” 
• People have given up on conversation and persuasion.
• Men have given up persuading other men to their point of view.
• Can I take that headline, and that statement on persuasion and combine them?
• God has not given up on trying to persuade men to flock to Him.
• Who is persuading if men have given up on persuading other men?
• Understand my point?

We’ve got a lot of people who serve in government that really do think the highest and greatest thing you can ever do is have the title Senator? BS! The best thing you can do is be called dad or mom, lover, neighbor, friend. Being a Senator is a great way to serve but it should be down like 11 maybe 6 but never top.

• This is a very Christian thing to say.
• Anyone that is a parent can tell you the greatest cross of your life is not your job, not your bills, not any of those things but in the sacrament of marriage and in becoming a parent.
• So it is ego that drives Nancy Pelosi and others like her. It is a never-ending lust and greed. What else could possibly be guiding her?
• How much money does one need?

ARRESTS AND INDICTMENTS

HEADLINE: Justice Department accuses former Fauci adviser of concealing communications related to COVID research by Associated Press

• Dr. David Morens, 78, is accused of using his private email account to intentionally circumvent public records laws while employed at the National Institutes of Health. The Justice Department alleges that he concealed or destroyed records of discussions related to COVID-19 research grants, including an effort to revive a controversial coronavirus grant.
• Morens faces charges of conspiracy against the United States; destruction, alteration or falsification of records in federal investigations; concealment, removal or mutilation of records; and aiding and abetting, according to a Justice Department news release. If convicted, he could face decades in prison. An attorney for Morens declined to comment.
• NOW the indictments are coming through, what is this only a month after Pam Bondi’s exit?
• Will these charges stick?
• Some will say Pam ‘laid the ground work’ for these indictments.
• Well I don’t see any evidence of that but if you have it, send it my way.
• The Justice Department also accused Morens of having an improper relationship with a collaborator, including allegedly accepting a gift of wine and discussing COVID-19 research and potential publications in a prominent medical journal.

• What has the world been selling young men? Mostly the stupefaction of porn, pot, online sports gambling, and endless video games, which, though often seductive, do not make for a life of meaning. Meanwhile, an intellectual culture of constant deconstruction and critique is a joyless dead end, as exemplified by those cheering on those denouncing the reality of male and female as an oppressive construct and therefore cheering the mutilation of children’s bodies. 

AUDIO/VIDEO: Ben Sasse w/ Scott Pelly 60 Minutes Interview – All across the industrialized rich world, people have just stop having babies in the last couple of decades. We are at replacement rates nowhere in the industrialized world. That is super weird. We’ve stopped having sex. Sex has collapsed demographically. I don’t have a phone on me, but that we carry mourned these super devices in our pockets that have distracted us from some of the most fundamental human activities and aspirations, having a baby is a bet on the future. And almost everywhere in the world, people have decided babies are an inconvenience. How weird that we’ve decided being distracted by a dopamine hit around Candy Cush might be good way to spend your time.

• It is not just, as Augustine famously acknowledged to God, that our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee, but that the natural law finds a way. As the brokenness of the world becomes more evident, the church can teach us who we are and how to live, proclaiming both the good news of God’s grace and the truth of how we are to live in accord with God’s creation order and our own nature.

• When I told the coffee delivery guy that is what we were discussing instead of the other MAGA stuff.
• He didn’t cringe, he didn’t coil away he said, that is interesting.
• I decided if I was going to be the Ethics in Broadcasting anchor, I needed to brush up on my Ethics knowledge.
• Of course, enthusiastic converts can make more, and religious renewal will, in time, bring many back to faith. But this requires that the passion of those finding faith, or returning to it, be nurtured and disciplined. If disciples are not made, then the revival will be derailed.

• There  influencers are doing the devil’s work in many ways but perhaps most of all in their efforts to stir up hatred between Christians. The enemy of our souls would love to turn a revival into a melee of arrogant factionalism.
• If Screwtape were writing today, he would undoubtedly advise his protégé to encourage debating theology on X. It is not that doctrinal disagreements do not matter, but social media is a terrible place to hash them out. Such arguments tend to turn theology into a cudgel for resentments, or an edifice of pride, rather than a way to love and know God.

AUDIO/VIDEO: King Charles Addresses Congress – In the immediate aftermath of of 9/11 and NATO invoked Article V for the first time, and the UN Council was united in the face of terror, we answered the call together. As our people have done so through the centuries. We had a shared resolve through 2 world wars, the Cold War and Afghanistan and moments that have defined our shared security. Today Mr Speaker, that same unyielding resolve is needed for the defense of Ukraine and her most courageous people.

• Did President Trump know that Charles was going to discuss war with Russia over Ukraine?
• I mean we are already over there shouldn’t be difficult right?
• Both sides in that hall stood for that.
• They stood and cheered a foreign leader tell them to send YOUR sons and daughters to die for Ukraine.
• I guess Charles is not a historian.
• Saudi Arabians were responsible for what happened on 9/11.
• It was the House of Saud that did that but we are buddies with them right?

AUDIO/VIDEO: Greg Bovino former US Border Patrol Chief – We’ve all got the team that we have and you have to rely on your team. Same with BP same with the President. You can’t do it all yourself. I think some of the team may not have the same fortitude that the President has. Trump is the best I’ve ever worked for. We went to Los Angeles and absolutely hammered it. Then we went to Chicago and then Charlotte, let me tell you what Charlotte was off the hook. I felt we had President Trump was behind us. That let me know, but everyone has their team. Sometimes cold feet or polling numbers can come into play and I think that’s too bad. I don’t care about polling numbers. BP agents, they are some of the greatest patriots I got to work alongside of. They called me oil on the ground, I’m a fossil. Some were there for a year and they were fully committed.

• He said when we first started Trump was the best reporter I have ever worked for.
• Then he stated clearly, someone on  his team got cold feet.
• If you don’t do it, you won’t have anything that is recognizable as a union of states and a country.
• They had 22 raids yesterday in Minneapolis and some arrests for fraud.
• GOOD, keep that up that is exactly the type of thing we voted for.

HEADLINE: ADAM WITHOUT LIBERALISM by Marc Barnes

• The trouble with liberalism is the trouble with all heresies—it has no idea that it is a heresy. It believes that it developed sui generis, without parents, as a sudden insight of an enlightened mind which finally decided to be rational, see all men as equal, abhor slavery, recognize democracy as the ideal form of government, posit the nature of man as a self-interested actor, relegate religion to the sphere of private belief, and otherwise constitute the world of open elections and iPad sales that we know and love today.
• Most fundamentally, liberalism is a retelling of the Genesis account of the Garden of Eden. This retelling is masked as a rational deduction of the original state of man prior to entering into society—but no one continues to pretend that Rousseau or Locke produced a more scientific account of mankind’s beginning with their “state of nature” myths.

• The 1st opinion of the morning is in First Choice Women’s Resource Centers v. Davenport, a case about whether a nonprofit can challenge a subpoena demanding the identities of its financial supporters in federal court. The court unanimously says yes.
• The 2nd opinion is in Louisiana v. Callais, on race-based discrimination and the Voting Rights Act. A 6-3 court held that Louisiana’s map creating a 2nd majority-black district was “an unconstitutional racial gerrymander.” Court didn’t strike Section 2.

• I think we have to accept Donald Trump is a monarchy super fan and just get past this.
• This is Trump living out his boy band fantasy I think.

This is an issue our entire agriculture system really fragile house of cards because it is so extremely dependent on foreign input. On fertilizer and round-up ready crops. We don’t manufacture most of our pesticides. In fact the government in China is a major manufacturer. They actually don’t need to attack the United States because they already own us by virtually we can’t grow food without some of these pesticides. What this administration did was a major slap in the face to MAHA. Glyphosate is a banner issue for MAHA. This is an important issue to MAHA. We have to be able to create our own products.
