    Hate Mail: Mike, Stop PRETENDING Like You Believe in Sanctifying Grace TheKingDude

StoneWall_JacksonFEATUREDMandeville, LA – I don’t ever recall being directly told to recant my fault-filled pursuit of Sanctifying Grace. Well, there’s a first time for everything. I also never imagined in my wildest dreams that the subject of calling out someone for mocking and abusing Christian symbols, acts and Sacraments would emanate from “conservatives”, giving me and hopefully many of you, all the more reason to either A. reclaim the term from those who abuse it or B. Start calling ourselves something more appropriate like [r]epublican monks or something similar. Now I have been slandered and accused of being an Obama understudy for basically repeating what I have learned in Catholic Catechism of late regarding Sacrilege and blasphemy. Apparently Tim missed that course.

Here’s Father (name withheld by Father’s request) of Mater Dei Catholic Parish in Irving TX explaining this in frank, unapologetic terms. If I am wrong about Ms. Palin, then Father’s catechism is wrong about Sanctifying Grace. Please consider other homilies from Father on the subject available here and here)

Comments: Hey Mike;
Listened to your program today, as I often do, while driving my son to school.
Know this, I don’t listen to you because you are so insightful. I don’t listen to you because you are such a deep thinker. I listen to you because you amuse me. You are an entertainer. Seems like you forgot that today. You came across as if you actually believed what you were saying. Watch out for that. That can be dangerous.

Perhaps it has never occurred to you that you and Obama are opposite sides of the same fantasy coin. You, like Obama share with your listeners, how the world would be if we just listened to your preaching. Neither you nor Obama have taken into account human nature. It is because of human nature, that Obama will ultimately fail. It is because of human nature, that your fantasy world, if it becomes reality, will ultimately fail.

Our founding fathers did all they could to take the effect of human nature out of the mix. Even they, ultimately failed. The state of our State, today, is testimony to that.

Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek to our enemies. In essence, he was saying: What are you doing here on earth? Why suffer? Why resist? I have this 5 star resort waiting for you up in heaven. We have 24 / 7 room service. No more pain; no more suffering. Everyone is happy, happy, happy. Don’t fight your enemy. Let him beat the crap out of you until your dead. Come on up. Saint Peter is waiting at the door to greet you and let you in. FUN, FUN, FUN for everyone.

Now, Mike, read that one more time. Then ask yourself; for whom was Jesus working; the poor masses or the Romans.

Don’t miss-read me, I KNOW there is a God. I know that God does NOT want you to go forth and let the crazed infidels slap the crap out of you. Sarah Palin understands this. Swallow your bombastic pride, and perhaps you will come to understand this too. Always factor in human nature when computing cause and effect.

When this once Great Country comes crashing down around us, to say, “I told you so”, just won’t matter that much.

Tim Rehm

==================My response===============

Tim,
Please, don’t ever write me again to challenge what I believe or do not believe. I have nothing else to say to you Sir other than your insulting comments are your own to make and mine to choose to ignore. I will however place them in my inventory of earned dirt heaped upon my character and forgive the transgression. Then you have the audacity to warn me against attempting to adhere to doctrines of Catholic Faith as it is dangerous?! Dangerous to whom!? Do you imply that the madness of Man is a product of his required pursuit of Sanctifying Grace through Our Lord!? ’Tis not for me to respond to that but I hope you receive counsel nonetheless.

Please re-read your missive again, maybe it will help you if we ever meet in person, an event I dread and pray never occurs.

Anon,

Mike Church

p.s. this is going to be published along with my response

    Are there any openings on the Catholic Channel? I think you will not get as many hateful calls and E-mails if you criticize Ted Cruz again as you do when you talk of the inevitable destination of all political discussions – religion. God, religion and faith cannot be separated, as Pope Leo said, from all aspects of our lives. If one attempts to effect the separation, bad things happen.

      The Catholic Channel? Catholic means “universal”, why should I have to take universal truth to another channel?

        I was being fecetious. I meant that because of all the haters who claim to stop listening because of all your religious talk that you may need to find a job on a different channel or something. I am not one of them. That is all.

      Listener & friend Hugh W, sums it up best through Pope Leo XIII:
      “”Whatever, therefore, is opposed to virtue and truth may not rightly be brought temptingly before the eye of man, much less sanctioned by the favor and protection of the law. A well-spent life is the only way to heaven, whither all are bound, and on this account the State is acting against the laws and dictates of nature whenever it permits the license of opinion and of action to lead minds astray from truth and souls away from the practice of virtue. To exclude the Church, founded by God Himself, from life, from laws, from the education of youth, from domestic society is a grave and fatal error. A State from which religion is banished can never be well regulated; and already perhaps more than is desirable is known of the nature and tendency of the so-called civil philosophy of life and morals. The Church of Christ is the true and sole teacher of virtue and guardian of morals. She it is who preserves in their purity the principles from which duties flow, and, by setting forth most urgent reasons for virtuous life, bids us not only to turn away from wicked deeds, but even to curb all movements of the mind that are opposed to reason, even though they be not carried out in action.”
