DeceptiCONNED I: At least 24 of the 119 detainees in the CIA’s “enhanced interrogation program” were not even terrorists and were wrongfully detained and at least 1 was killed, as Daniel Larison points out. “These are the inevitable abuses that will come from employing evil means in the name of national security. We can at least hope that policymakers will reject these inexcusable methods in the future. Regrettably, many hard-liners in the U.S. seem wedded to defending the torture regime for reasons of partisan loyalty or ideology”

DeceptiCONNED III: Torture promoters seem to be saying that if we just ignore that the CIA torture event ever happened then the world will THINK it didn’t happen too, and then we can, like,… The denial of this tragedy is needed to continue the warfare state in all its tortured and expensive vainglory

DeceptiCONNED I: The “Torture Report” summary will be released today, it is a 480 pg rundown of the 6,000 page report. If GOP war mongers are correct that “[f]irst of all, the CIA workforce will feel as if it has been tried and convicted in absentia since the Senate Democrats and their staff didn’t talk to anyone actively involved in the program. Second, this will be used by our enemies to motivate people to attack Americans and American facilities overseas.” – Whoa!? If the report contains war-crime like activities that can start new wars 1. Why is the CIA still in business and 2. How do we know that starting new hostilities isn’t the POINT of the release?

Not to be outdone, the government directives that kept 7-8,000 permanent residents at Giotmo without ever having been charged has now released a whopping SIX of them

A good example of this tag-tem of lies is when a state “accepts” Medicaid “grant money” it knows it cannot raise by taxes, tthat the Feds haven’t raised it by taxes and that the people the “benefits” are applied to and their heirs will perpetually repay WITH interest. The same pols cannot charge a new care on your VISA card and send you the bill but that is precisely what they do with Medicaid/ObamaCare etcetera

The so-called “news media” in the U.S., is no more a news operation than Spike TV is, they are “infotainment” and their BIG Money BIG War  profiteers like war, so the “networks” like war as you can see in this piece

All issues aside, why in Our Lord’s name would Pope Francis invite Patty Smith to perform at a Vatican “Christmas Concert”? Why not just send the Pope Sled to Ireland and pick up Sinead O’Connor on the way?

But Taylor is asking for this condemnation that his world of science trumping faith and that science trumping any faith based sense of humility and modesty.
