This is not a drill. The National Institutes of Health intends to create a being from human DNA in an animal embryo. Please read Bishop Burbidge’s letter and consider offering you opposition, But be warned, if you do this, you’ll be placing the Federales on notice that you oppose their diabolical, unnatural government. On August 4, 2016, the NIH announced that it will begin spending taxpayer dollars on the creation and manipulation of new beings whose very existence blurs the line between humans and animals. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Today we are seeking your immediate help in stopping a proposal by our government to create a new creature that is a combination of a human being and an animal.

This is not science fiction. The National Institutes of Health, (NIH), has recently announced its intention to lift its moratorium on funding research that involves injecting human embryonic stem cells into animal embryos thus creating part-human and part-animal organisms known as chimeras.

This means that, for the first time, the Federal government will begin spending taxpayer dollars on the destruction of human life for the creation and manipulation of new beings whose very existence blurs the line between humans and non-human animals.

Public comments regarding this unethical research are currently being accepted. However, the window to act is tight; comments close on Tuesday, September 6 at midnight EDT.

I object strongly to the NIH’s proposal to rescind its moratorium on funding of research involving human-animal chimeras. I do not want my tax dollars being used for grossly unethical research involving the creation and manipulation of part-human, part-animal beings whose very existence blurs the line between humans and non-human animals. This proposed research raises all the ethical problems of human embryonic stem cell research in general and serious additional problems related to the creation of human-animal beings with partly or substantially human brains.

I strongly urge you to maintain the current moratorium on funding research involving the creation and manipulation of human-animal chimeras.

This is the comment I sent to NIH:

You must not introduce an animal species cells into a human’s, period. There is a natural and supernatural reason why the species’ are distinct; and medicine in the civilized Western World has always acknowledged and honored that distinction. An entire canon of medical ethics has been built upon it, drawing its authority from the ancient and still in effect teaching on human life as rare, distinct and precious. “God entrusted animals to the stewardship of those whom he created in his own image. Hence it is legitimate to use animals for food and clothing. They may be domesticated to help man in his work and leisure. Medical and scientific experimentation on animals is a morally acceptable practice if it remains within reasonable limits and contributes to caring for or saving human lives.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church: “javascript:openWindow(‘cr/2234.htm’);
What part of your experimentation contributes to “saving human lives”? The fact is you are conducting your “experiments” to DETERMINE if human lives may be spared, failing the first and most important ethical test.
If animal research into “cures” requires the sacrifice of humans then there is no ethical basis for your testing. If it requires but the sacrifice of an animal then it is only justified by a prior finding of fact that this procedure has the potential for gains in animal health. There and there only. You have no ethical authority or imperative to conduct these tests on humans or around humans. And even then, the parameters for containment of the tests should be of the highest calibre and reliability (as previous encounters with the subject show). None of this is provided or even contemplated but treated with an arrogance unfitting for scientific discovery.
Please, delay the test until Safety and traditional ethics can be studied and applied.
