The women were each singing, in Latin, the Veni Creator and were members of the Carmelite order of Compiegne. Their story is told by me in brief in today’s Church Doctrine which is available here. Father Henderson, who is a member of the Fathers of Mercy order tells the complete story and why its important today in this video. What’s interesting about that is the Fathers of Mercy was the first religious order approved of in France after the end of the French Revolution.
