• Thomas Monaghan is the founder and chancellor for Ave Maria University. He is known as a wildly successful entrepreneur, the founder of Domino’s Pizza, an avid collector of Frank Lloyd Wright items and the former owner of the Detroit Tigers. If his story stopped there, he might seem to fit in with other savvy entrepreneurs whose hard work and ingenuity paid off. But his greatest personal achievements came later in life, when Tom decided to fully immerse himself in charitable works, Catholic philanthropy and the call to restore Catholic higher education.
• After divesting himself of all of the responsibilities and lavish distractions from a life of success, Tom set out to build America’s newest Catholic university, in an age buffeted by moral crises and anti-Christian sentiment.

• In his arrogant way he just said the wrong thing.
• I know what he meant to say but that’s not what came out.
• He was asked about Americas’ financial situations and he said “no, not for a second”.
• This was the man elected to Make America Great Again and that includes Americans.
• This is May of 2026, by now the trillions in investments there should be factories being built and thousands of young men working in them.

• There were an estimated 46.5% more home sellers than buyers in the U.S. housing market in April, down from 47.5% the month before and a high of 48.9% in December 2025. It’s still very much a buyer’s market, but it’s no longer a strengthening buyer’s market.
• There were an estimated 1 million homebuyers in the market in April, up 2% from March—the largest increase in 13 months. Meanwhile, there were an estimated 1.5 million sellers in the market, up 1.3% month over month. While that’s the largest increase in a year, it’s still smaller than the increase in buyers, which is why the gap between buyers and sellers is shrinking.

• Crude oil, there will be none to ship in July.
• In other words, we will refine crude oil into gas and diesel but not enough left over to put in containers to do oil changes.
• What is the primary ingredient that goes into making the synthetic oil?

• State lawmakers are considering a proposed law that would transfer any “historical statue or monument” owned by a government and removed from a public display on or after Aug. 1, 2006, to the Office of State Parks.
• The first question is does the city of New Orleans OWN these statues?
• In all of these cases, these statues were DONATED to the city of New Orleans.
• Robert E Lee used to be in that round about now its just a tall weird thing with lots of homeless people around it.
• The Daughters of the Confederacy donated these statues.
• They could sue the city and take these statues back and then donate them to the State Park Service.
• The Office of State Parks, run by the lieutenant governor, would be required to relocate the monument to a place that could be accessed by the public, according to House BIll 1215. Its new location could not be in the same parish where the monument originally stood.
• Three of the four Confederate monuments New Orleans removed that year still sit in city-owned storage, said Nungesser, who worked with Bayham on the bill. 
• The legislation, sponsored by state Rep. Mike Bayham, R-Chalmette, passed the Louisiana House of Representatives on a 78-14 vote last week. The Louisiana Senate must also approve the proposal for it to become law.
• The city could just release them to the Confederate Cemetery in Tangipahoa, Camp Moore. They could be placed there if the city of New Orleans will never place them out in public.

• He made some really stupid comments on race and Ole Miss and LSU being more ‘diverse’ than Ole Miss.
• He has NO IDEA about the history here in South Louisiana.

• Louisiana’s Confederate infantry forces were a part of the Army of Northern Virginia and were commonly known as the Louisiana Tigers. The nickname originated with one New Orleans volunteer unit and, due to a combination of fierce fighting and notorious actions, came to encompass a six-company Louisiana battalion. Ultimately, the entirety of the state’s foot soldiers in the Civil War’s eastern theater came to be known as the Louisiana Tigers.
• These locally organized groups of roughly one hundred men each—in units bearing such names as the Carondelet Invincibles, Atchafalaya Guards, and Pelican Greys—mustered into service as the battalions and regiments of foot soldiers that, by the end of the war, were collectively known as the Louisiana Tigers.
• Civil War-era Louisiana saw the formation of several units associated with the predatory big cat, groups such as the Calcasieu Tigers and the Rapides Tigers. Yet a New Orleans-based company has the most direct lineage to the Louisiana Tiger brigade: the Tiger Rifles. Raised by Kentuckian Alexander White, the company included dozens of dockworkers and deckhands, many hailing from Ireland and White’s home state upriver, as well as several reported felons.  Only two native Louisianans—identified in census records as “mulatto”—appeared on the company rolls. Members embellished their hats with slogans such as “Tiger Found for Happy Land,” “Lincoln’s Life or a Tiger’s Death,” and “Tiger in Search of a Black Republican,” according to local newspapers.

• When he repeats it, there is an element of arrogance.
• I understand what he MEANT to say, don’t get me wrong, it just didn’t come out that way and it looks and sounds horrible.

• What is the idea?
• Why are you asking China to open up?

• In January 1941, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in his annual address to Congress, painted Lindbergh and his America First Committee as soft-headed preachers of appeasement who “would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests.”
• Roosevelt didn’t refer to Lindbergh by name in that speech, but everyone knew who he had in mind. And three months later, Roosevelt confirmed their suspicions during a press conference, categorizing Lindbergh himself among the appeasers and defeatists of American history. Other political leaders maligned him as pro-Nazi, antisemitic, and un-American.
• Though Lindbergh supported the war effort after Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor—even flying on combat missions in the Pacific and shooting down a Japanese fighter—his reputation never fully recovered.
• In 2004, the author Philip Roth published The Plot Against America, an alternative history in which Lindbergh defeats Roosevelt in the 1940 presidential election, allies with Nazi Germany, and unleashes an epidemic of antisemitism in America. The novel was adapted into an HBO miniseries in 2020 that received critical acclaim.
• By villainizing Lindbergh, political and media elites have also weaponized him. The playbook is straightforward: Whenever an antiwar conservative gets out of line, just call him a modern-day Lindbergh, whose very name has become synonymous with Hitler fan.
• They did the same thing to Senator Joseph R McCarthy aka Tail Gunner Joe.
• I’m only scratching the surface here.

• The Venona Papers – there were communist in Hollywood, they were semites and they were working with the Russians.
• He was asked “Who is responsible for changing our national policy from one of neutrality and independence to one of entanglement in European affairs?”
• In which he answered “The three most important groups who have been pressing this country toward war are the British, the Jewish, and the Roosevelt administration.”

• People don’t believe in this war and what he is doing to Thomas Massie is really angering the American people.
