• I think most people when they hear this about AI they throw their hands up and say…NOPE.
• Supposedly we will have orbiting AI data centers in space with no humans on them at all.
• We can’t get repair models in space to fix a space station but you are going to build an entire AI  facility in space? How will it generate its own electricity?

• The Line Goes Up whilst we all go down, and so does everything of value in our lives. This moment is one in which we are realising how the way our economics and politics have ruled us has also impoverished us. We are sick of being lectured by grifters who monetise the ruin of our lives, selling us false hope with empty slogans, and going on to fill the pockets of their friends.
• This way of doing business has left us in poverty in terms of money and meaning, and the old system has no solutions because it is itself the cause of all these problems.
• Economy – If it views our people as replaceable and human life as something to be bought or discarded as a matter of convenience then we are for the purposes of the economy and nothing more.
• Remember Brion McClanahan talked about Catholic Confessional State, a graphic I made a while back…why don’t we go back to this?
• We had this and people by in large were happy right?
• So what happened?
• I agree with Frank, the only place to go from here is down.
• You can’t be part of this game without being a sycophant.

• It’s utterly desiccating to log onto spaces seeking a live mind to joust and think with, and find a relentless stream of slop. Promised an age of superconnectivity, we’ve let our shared physical spaces wither, only to find our promised digital commons to be one large billboard increasingly read and created by bots.
• The ruling elites made it a policy that you are irrelevant.
• When you approach an online retailer, or you are greeted with a WELCOME then insert your name, you are really greeted with AI algorithm.

• Now introspect is a HUMAN emotion so how can a computer program show human emotions?
• It can’t.
• But it can emulate human characteristics.
• Have you tried to use AI?
• I have used it on several occasions.
• It has been programed through its learning to MIMICK joy. It is not capable of actual joy. It is a technology.
• This is where most people are missing the whole thing.

• AI does not have God at the center of it.
• Like the Tower of Babel it is doomed to fail.
• Assume  the technology works as advertised, that AI systems become capable of performing most cognitive labor at a fraction of the cost of human workers. What happens next?

• Bear in mind where this man is talking, he is in the Vatican.
• He is there telling the Catholic Church, the oldest institution, he is asking for help. He does’t know what is happening, he doesn’t know where to go from here. To me this is a plea for help from the oldest institution.
• Is this him acknowledging there is a God? Most of these AI scientists are agnostic or atheists.

• As we’re getting excited about discovering how to use claude.md files in Cowork, the industry is pitching a different reality. Every investor presentation of an AI agent “doing the work of ten analysts” is telling you the same thing: the product is labor replacement. The gentler language (”copilot,” “assistant,” “augmentation”) is marketing. The financial model underneath requires the elimination of human cost centers at civilizational scale. If it doesn’t do that, these companies are the most overvalued assets in the history of capitalism. The people writing the checks are not in the habit of lighting trillions of dollars on fire for a better autocomplete and an endless proliferation of longer and longer memos that nobody reads.
• So if AI is successful you are going to eliminate 80% of white collar jobs.
• Why would any human agree to this?
• Do we not get a vote in this?
• Let’s follow the money through 3 turns with Owen.
• 1. Turn One – a company licenses AI to replace a significant portion of its workforce. Costs drop. Margins expand. The stock price goes up. Everyone on the earnings call is happy. 
• 2. Turn Two – the replaced workers stop earning income. They cut spending. The businesses they used to patronize see revenue decline. Some of those businesses also adopt AI to cut costs, compounding the displacement. Consumer demand contracts across the economy.
• 3. Turn Three – the company that fired its workers to save money discovers that its customers were, in aggregate, other companies’ workers. Revenue growth stalls. The AI subscription that was supposed to be an investment in efficiency turns out to be a contribution to the destruction of its own market.
• See how this is working?
• There will be few people left working so no one has income anymore so how will the white collar worker be able to afford the ‘stuff’ AI is doing?
• Better AI makes this worse. Improved productivity widens the profit gap from automating faster than your competitors, intensifying the arms race toward collective ruin.
• Henry Ford understood, perhaps apocryphally but correctly in principle, that his workers needed to earn enough to buy his cars. The AI economy is eliminating the workers and expecting the cars to keep selling, except that software has near-zero marginal cost, so the entire value proposition is the elimination of the human cost center. The product is the removal of the customer base.

• The economist Wassily Leontief saw this coming in 1983 when he compared human labor to horses. The US horse population grew from nine million in 1840 to twenty-one million by 1900, seemingly immune to technological change. Within sixty years of the internal combustion engine, the population collapsed by eighty-eight percent. The horses weren’t retired out of malice. They became uneconomical to keep. Leontief’s point was that there is no economic law preventing the same thing from happening to humans.
• I was shocked by this horse number.
• So what happens to us humans? 
• Who is the customer when the customer is the thing you’ve eliminated?
• This is precisely what Frank Wright was talking about in his little interview.

• You attach people to a slogan, you give us all hope then you don’t deliver on anything.
• That is EXACTLY what Trump has done with MAGA.
• Frank Wright just described it precisely!
• What could this ‘higher purpose’ be that he is speaking about?

• Who is paying for all this AI?
• We are the human citizens.
• Who benefits from the creation of AI?
• Not the humans that will lose their jobs.
• Why are people accepting it?
• I want these AI companies to go bankrupt. They get NOTHING no subsidies and it should be illegal for public trading.
• If Kevin O’Leary thinks this is the future, he should invest all of HIS money into it. Not government subsidies and not the states money.
• The CEO of one of the three leading AI companies is telling you that the technology he is building will undermine the material basis of democratic governance. He sees the problem. He is building the thing that causes it. His company has not endorsed a single piece of legislation to address it. When asked about policy advocacy, Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark described it as “the end of a very, very long chain of work.”
• Autocracies are better customers for this technology than democracies, which is precisely why the broligarchy has rapidly shifted its support behind Trump and MAGA. A democratic government that deploys AI to replace its workforce faces electoral consequences. An authoritarian government faces no such constraint and gains a surveillance and control dividend on top of the economic efficiencies. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Singapore: vast capital, centralized decision-making, no electorate to answer to, and an active interest in technologies of control. This is one of the motivating factors in the Valley’s latching on to Trump: he and his cronies can be bought, and as importantly, they have no loyalty to democracy. The economic incentives for AI companies point toward the entities with the fewest democratic accountability mechanisms.
• This explains why no one has been arrested, they are partners now.
• Why do we accept a market in which my labor is the expendable product?
• “What happens when the market decides my skills are worthless?” is the question every human should be asking.
