Lee.. Landrieu claimed the Lee Statue and other removed Confederate statues: “These statues are not just stone and metal. They are not just innocent remembrances of a benign history. These monuments purposefully celebrate a fictional, sanitized Confederacy;ignoring the death, ignoring the enslavement, and the terror that it actually stood for.” Well, what about the memories that mothers will have of the WATER that hurricane Katrina brought that KILLED over 2,000 New Orleanians? Won’t the sight of water, the agent of so many drownings, strike anguish and fear into the hearts of Katrina’s survivors?
