Wickard vs Filburn Case – was a case decided on November 9, 1942 by the United States Supreme Court.  It involved a farmer who was fined by the United States Department of Agriculture and contested the federal government’s authority to regulate his activities. The Supreme Court reversed the decision of a United States District Court, holding that the farmer’s activities were within the scope of Congress’ power to regulate because they could have an effect on interstate commerce by affecting national wheat prices and the national wheat market.

The Republican-appointed Justices’ reported votes to overturn Roe v. Wade would go down as an abomination, one of the worst and most damaging decisions in modern history. 

Several of these conservative Justices, who are in no way accountable to the American people, have lied to the U.S. Senate, ripped up the Constitution and defiled both precedent and the Supreme Court’s reputation. 

This is at the expense of tens of millions of women who could soon be stripped of their bodily autonomy and the constitutional rights they’ve relied on for half a century.
