Mandeville, LA – Mike Church‘s daily Pile of Prep, Welcome to mikechurch.com’s Pile of Prep, all the materials used to prepare the Mike Church show, 2015 Edition. Last week I wrote and spoke of the aversion the Millennial generation has to giving birth to the children that will succeed them, this viewpoint is growing in popularity which indicates that the truth of the matter and the threat to posterity it poses, is starting to be taken seriously; plus other [r]epublican stories used to perform the Mike Church Show on Sirius/XM Patriot channel 125.“From the standpoint of both politics and urbanism, Rome remains a significant lesson of what to avoid: its history presents a series of classic danger signals to warn one when life is moving in the wrong direction. Wherever crowds gather in suffocating numbers, wherever rents rise steeply and housing conditions deteriorate, wherever a one-sided exploitation of distant territories removes the pressure to achieve balance and harmony nearer at hand, there the precedents of Roman building almost automatically revive, as they have come back today: the arena, the tall tenement, the mass contests and exhibitions, the football matches, the international beauty contests, the strip-tease made ubiquitous by advertisement, the constant titillation of the senses by sex, liquor and violence—all in true Roman style. ” – Lewis Mumford, The City in History
Proving that political partisanship is just another way to control minds and prevent True Revelation (which is why it produces rotten fruit) Senator Chirs Coons of Delaware recounted a story of his Progressive Harvard Law School buddies who disowned him when he informed them he was taking classes at the Seminary. Note the bigoted demand that Coons couldn’t possibly be a “believer” because he had previously majored in Science.
If you thought that Millennial devotion with soul rotting fallacies from “hookups” to “gay marriages” was an isolated issue that is detached from who they really are, you may find comfort in this Protestant millennial’s analysis of why her peers do and do not attend church or pursue ecclesiastic vocations.
What did Lewis Mumford know in 1961 that too many people still do not know today? In his History of The City, Mumford demolished the idea that locomotion via car to far away jobs so one can live in suburbia which necessitates the long commute to begin with. I’ve been probing this paradigm for the past few years before I had ever read Mumford but am now inspired to read more and continue the inquiry.
You know the whole school of thought that says that contraception and abortion are no big deals and are just “choices” that free people must be allowed to make? Those issues are what informs our yewts that homosexual marriage and the sex that goes with it are cool because they are practicing the same genitalia arousal with no intention to create and cherish the life it is supposed to produce.
SCOTUS to balk at Same Sex Marriage endorsement? Reading the highlights of the oral arguments could produce the prospect that the Justices are loathe to side with those who wish to alter “marriage” to conform to the new, asexual definition which is the same as abolishing the current definition.
Buchanan: The battle lines between the cops and the law they are charged to enforce for the benefit of the people they protect has been drawn in Baltimore over the prosecutor’s pledge to those demanding “justice” that this “is your moment”
Dr. Ben Carson makes it official, he is running for the GOP nomination for President. Carson, who has become a favorite of “conservatives” at speaking events adds the novice charm that Americans clamor for to the GOP primary “race”.
Has the era of faith passed into the mists of time, never to be the dominant intellectual force of Man again? Douglas Murray attempts to straddle the divide that the modernists have created between people of faith and their secular counterparts but like nearly every analysis of this type that does not proceed from the Truth of western Man’s unity by Christian faith, it relies on secular appeal which is just as likely to be inspired by brand name sodas and electronic gadgets as it is by the Divine. Murray’s readers would do well to read Chesterton on this matter:
“It is commonly the loose and latitudinarian Christians who pay quite indefensible compliments to Christianity. They talk as if there had never been any piety or pity until Christianity came, a point on which any mediaeval would have been eager to correct them. They represent that the remarkable thing about Christianity was that it was the first to preach simplicity or self-restraint, or inwardness and sincerity. They will think me very narrow (whatever that means) if I say that the remarkable thing about Christianity was that it was the first to preach Christianity. Its peculiarity was that it was peculiar, and simplicity and sincerity are not peculiar, but obvious ideals for all mankind. Christianity was the answer to a riddle, not the last truism uttered after a long talk. Only the other day I saw in an excellent weekly paper of Puritan tone this remark, that Christianity when stripped of its armour of dogma (as who should speak of a man stripped of his armour of bones), turned out to be nothing but the Quaker doctrine of the Inner Light. Now, if I were to say that Christianity came into the world specially to destroy the doctrine of the Inner Light, that would be an exaggeration. But it would be very much nearer to the truth. The last Stoics, like Marcus Aurelius, were exactly the people who did believe in the Inner Light. Their dignity, their weariness, their sad external care for others, their incurable internal care for themselves, were all due to the Inner Light, and existed only by that dismal illumination. Notice that Marcus Aurelius insists, as such introspective moralists always do, upon small things done or undone; it is because he has not hate or love enough to make a moral revolution. He gets up early in the morning, just as our own aristocrats living the Simple Life get up early in the morning; because such altruism is much easier than stopping the games of the amphitheatre or giving the English people back their land. Marcus Aurelius is the most intolerable of human types. He is an unselfish egoist. An unselfish egoist is a man who has pride without the excuse of passion. Of all conceivable forms of enlightenment the worst is what these people call the Inner Light. Of all horrible religions the most horrible is the worship of the god within. Any one who knows any body knows how it would work; any one who knows any one from the Higher Thought Centre knows how it does work. That Jones shall worship the god within him turns out ultimately to mean that Jones shall worship Jones. Let Jones worship the sun or moon, anything rather than the Inner Light; let Jones worship cats or crocodiles, if he can find any in his street, but not the god within. Christianity came into the world firstly in order to assert with violence that a man had not only to look inwards, but to look outwards, to behold with astonishment and enthusiasm a divine company and a divine captain. The only fun of being a Christian was that a man was not left alone with the Inner Light, but definitely recognized an outer light, fair as the sun, clear as the moon, terrible as an army with banners.”
Spyin’ Eyes – A bill to limit what Congress has already authorized the NSA-CIA-FBI etc to do in collecting mass amounts of data from your and my phone calls has advanced in the GOP controlled House. Note the irony that the effort faces and uphill challenge in the legislative bodies controlled by alleged “constitution” enthusiasts.
DeceptiCONNED: Senator Tom cotton gets schooled by the Iranian ambassador Zarif after Cotton claims that Iran has “gone rogue” and that there government is completely populated by “hard-liners” (whatever that may be). Does Cotton not realize that the perception the rest of the planet has about the American government is that IT is filled with “hard-liners” like Cotton who cannot distinguish between an existential threat and a hypothetical one?
FORGET THE “HUNGER GAMES”, WHERE ARE THE “FERTILITY GAMES!?” – Why is anyone worried about “the future generations” when majorities of Millennial women who will have to bear that generation’s children have chosen Facebook posting, extended indoctrination training (“college”) and serial promiscuity over marital monogamy and family life with children? Of course all that is needed to “fix this” is for “liberals” to lose enough elections to “conservatives” and … SHAZAMM! This is not to excuse the metrosexual wimps that pass for “men” today who wouldn’t know that the virtuous joy of chivalry trumps the fleeting bliss of the “hookup”, anyway. But the question is open, who WILL save the future by creating it? Will Facebook be sponsoring a “Like” YOUR future feature where a thousand “post of your choice, LIKES” will be given for proof of a live birth (with a new FaceBook page for the infant of course).
DceptiCONNED II: DeceptiCON Grand Wizard Bill Kristol has used the Neville Chamberlain-Munich Talks-Winston Churchill was smarter than Chamberlain- ruse 61 times since it’s world premiere in 1997. I’m not sure what is more shocking, that Kristol uses the reference as a crutch or that a man who has been lethally wrong on nearly every foreign policy question of his public career is still consulted as an “expert”?! Of course, if you recall my analogy of the Big Circle/Little Circle of corrupt politics, Kristol’s longevity, influence and wealth is explained.
Every revolution has its death toll and the sexual revolution’s is in tens of millions and showing no signs of abating. Homosexual writer Jeffrey Escoffer boasts “Escoffier says the Sexual Revolution of the 1960s and ’70s “would never have happened without a series of extended battles over obscenity and pornography,” that “these battles helped to create a public space in American culture for sexual speech.…”
Speaking of Pro-Life causes, who is monitoring the ghastly loss of life in Baltimore that is INTENTIONAL and LEGAL in the city’s numerous abortion clinics? These people are…
SCOTUS oral arguments on SSM, Pt II – Justice Alito asks the question that if the Court were to rule The Oxymoron an enforceable, legal mandate, would that mean schools who refuse compliance and advocacy could have their “tax exempt status” revoked thus placing them in Leviathan’s crosshairs like Bob Jones University, remember that one? Would perfunctory religious schools like Notre Dame be forced to construct “same sex married-dating-testing-hooking up etc” dorms?
The Imaginative Conservative: Ralph Ancil explains the differences between Ludwig von Mises and Wilhelm Roepke in “Austrian Economics”. Mises treats economics and human nature as an applied science while Roepke recognizes that without acknowledgement of supernatural forces, through faith, nothing can be truly known, science or not
Nomocracy: Here’s a new take on a concept we have been discussing for years, Congress is corrupted by the “Influence Economy” which basically makes legal the illegal and immoral but those who bring this about about cannot identify the “illegal” part. “First, the influence economy may be legal but it nonetheless foments perceptions of corruption that corrode our political institutions. Second, money’s corruption of politics cannot be neutralized by further tweaking the existing edifice of campaign regulations. Instead, we need a structural solution.”
Buchanan: Who’s running the GOP, Israel via proxy Sheldon Adelson and Sin City’s illicit profits or the embattle Christians of Iowa and Iraq?
The history of the “Fairness Doctrine” shows that even IF the FCC is successful in ignoring the courts and defying Congress there will always be room for the hope of a future appeal succeeding
