Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Your bloodlust for your fellow citizens’ blood is sick, it really is. It is sick. You are morally bankrupt in your sickness. The act of secession comes from the Latin word secedere, look it up. What does secedere mean? It means to withdraw. I am going to secedere to the bathroom. I’m going to withdraw to the bathroom. It has nothing to do with a war. It’s not a part of war. It is a simple act of withdrawing from an agreement. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mike:I have these people that listen to this show, listeners, that are snipers. When I say snipers, they sit out there and they’re ready to pounce and become internet trolls over any point that they think they can snag a headline and a couple comments back to themselves based on an argument that they claim I have not factually or properly argued. One of them is secession. I’m just going to say this to you snipers on the Twitter and Facebook feeds this morning. I’m going to say it for the benefit of the rest of the audience. This applies to the first call this hour, Chris in North Carolina’s point about Nathan Hale.
Your bloodlust for your fellow citizens’ blood is sick, it really is. Until the well became poisoned with the Lincoln administration and the radical Republicans seizing on the term and claiming it was constitutionally illegal — it’s not. Read my edited edition of Is Davis a Traitor; or, Was secession a constitutional right previous to the war of 1861? You people out there that lust for your fellow citizens’ blood, that is not what I’m talking about, and I resent the implication that if you use the “s” word, secession, that you’re advocating civil war.
The political act of seceding, whether it is a city that secedes from a state, whether it is northern Colorado — let me ask you geniuses out there a question: Are the citizens of northern Colorado asking for a war to be waged against them because they want to leave the rest of Colorado and wish to practice the arcane and ancient art of self-government? Are the citizens of northern California and southern Oregon that wish to form the State of Jefferson, are they asking for us to invade and kill them? Should they execute the perfectly legal and perfectly natural human right of choosing their own form of government and seceding from California and Oregon? Maybe there are some sickos like you people out there sniping on the internet feeds that wish war and wish death and wish civil war and violence. I can’t say for certain that there aren’t some sickos, some whackos out there, but by and large, no, that’s not what they’re asking for. They are asking for the right to govern themselves.
What about the people that wanted to secede — AG, you’ll remember this. Remember the guy that was a liberal and he wanted Tucson, Arizona to secede from the southern part? Do you remember that? We interviewed this guy back in 2011, I want to say. Was he advocating, did he want to go to war with John McCain?
AG: That was not part of the interview, no.
Mike: It wasn’t. Those that want to inject violence into secession, that’s you doing that. That’s you. That is not part of that word. I guess it can be. Yes, we do have some examples unfortunately that it did lead to it, but there have been peaceful secessions: West Virginia, Maine, the Dakotas, and other examples. I do not share your bloodlust is my point, and your description of the political action as necessarily, one, to provoke a war, and two, for a violent revolution and bloodshed. It is a simple act. Free people should be free to practice their own form of self-government. It is a simple act of withdrawing from a compact that has been entered into the practice of government.
Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – "Abortion, and even contraception, even in the prevention of pregnancy, is verboten in church teaching. This goes all the way back prior – this is taken directly from the gospels, directly from the Old Testament, and then passed on traditionally." Check out today’s transcript […]
