How Many More Black Eyes Can the NFL Endure?

2011 Mike Church

Hi folks its Mike Church with todays Church Doctrine

As the sun sets on another NFL season, heres to hoping the league stops acting like football is something played by Eminem, run by Eminem and watched by only Eminem fans. The NFLs final memory of 2010s season will be one of mediocre performance by mediocre talent in what may only be described as the greatest squandering of resources since the creation of Medicare.

First there was the hype over Christina Aguilera singing the national anthem. Finally the NFL high priests told us, we have a crooner of unequaled skill and professionalism. That may be true but Ms Aguilera will not be accepting awards for long-term memory contests as she stammered her way through a lyric malfunction.

Then there was the much ballyhooed halftime show starring the Black Eyed Peas and Usher. Soon after the Peas descended from the rafters of the palace that Jerry built it became apparent that they must have left their greatest hits at home. Not even the specter of hundreds of Eminembots aligned across the Cowboy Stadium floor lit up in Tron-like glowing lights spelling out the universal symbol for underachievers: LOVE- could save the train wreck that was this halftime show.

Amid this backdrop there was also a football game which it seems the NFL thinks can survive these successive, halftime Black Eyes.
