Monday Pile of Prep-Merry Christmas The Return To Bedford Falls Has Begun!

Background

0990332489_PT01Mandeville, LA – Today’s Pile of Prep: most of the stories and research used to put together the Mike Church Show on the Veritas Radio Network’s CRUSADE Channel. 2016 is here and WELCOME to the All-New, Mike Church Show on the CRUSADE Channel, listen LIVE for Free (don’t cost nuthin’).

Sapientia et Veritas“This is the world we have all made and the shame and the blame extends to all of us. Because we listened to the free traders for whom the value of cheap goods from China via Walmart was more important than the industrial jobs that sustained young families and provided some discipline and dignity to young lives. To the entertainment elites that cynically peddled a culture of indulgence and irresponsibility in various seductive packages, wherein the only value is to have a good time and whose narrow idea of consequences is confined only to the immediate participant, not those whose lives the participant touches. To the professional elites who looked down on their fellow citizens who had to do society’s dirty jobs and who were more worried about some carbon dioxide in the air than what would happen to those miners and processors when all their jobs were gone. To the political class, who among many crimes on the road to the welfare state abetted the baby daddies abandoning their offspring, paid unmarried women to have more children and offered a vision of society in which you are either a winner or a hand-out recipient. Even to those saintly grandparents featured in the opioid story, who could not figure out how to protect their children from the corruption all around them.”– Pat Maloney

What Wal-Mart Culture Hath Wrought – The final week of “Christmas shopping” is upon us and the predictable traffic jams, road rage and checkout line meltdowns will begin, ugggh. Now, after the “uggghhh” I would like to pose the question: why go through the imported, Chinese made, injection plastic molded misery? This year in the Church household we are foregoing mountains of gifts in exchange for purchasing a family item we actually need and pledging to begin Christmas on the first day and  celebrate it with reverence for all 12. Does that make us strange or different? Yes. Does that make us or the Wal-Mart society in error? Well, let’s ask Rod Dreher’s reader Pat Maloney of Winnetka, Illinois who penned today’s Veritas et Sapientia about the above subject, here’s a sample: “This is the world we have all made and the shame and the blame extends to all of us. Because we listened to the free traders for whom the value of cheap goods from China via Walmart was more important than the industrial jobs that sustained young families and provided some discipline and dignity to young lives.” Maloney’s critique is aimed squarely at what I call “the paradigm” and his conclusions match my own: the diaspora back to Bedford Falls has begun.

My Headline Of The Day: Can Progressives Stop Making My Christmas Traditions Political? – Scroogetard Libs can’t even conduct the music to Handel’s Messiah without a public, #NedverTrump hissy fit as Nicole Russell relates. Conductor Douglas Boyd of the Minnesota Symphony, before conducting Handel’s Messiah, felt compelled to pine away that he’d be better off living under a dictator AND that the audience should not stand during the Hallelujah chorus. Russell’s mother wasn’t amused and neither should the rest of us be: “With three other family members, I attended Messiah Saturday evening. Not only were we encouraged to bypass tradition and sit during the “Hallelujah” chorus but it was implied by Douglas Boyd that perhaps we would be better off living under a king or dictatorship. At least half of the people there ignored his ignorant suggestion and stood for the chorus and if he wants to live under a king, I’m sure Russia would be happy to have him. I hardly think a musical venue is the place to disparage our political system.” Amazing. Boyd is directly involved, nay participating in all 3 of the Good, True and Beautiful yet chooses to promote despair and ugliness.

Reports Of Tradition’s Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated – Is religious tradition actually making a comeback? Stephen Turley thinks so and cites Trump’s election as proof. Turley cites recent actions by Pope Francis as  further evidence of tradition’s rise which has to be pointed out, is incorrect. Francis’s wheeling and dealing with any “religious leader”: who will meet with him has given tradition a boost but the boost is a pushback reaction against Francis and his progressive, rambling statements.

Do You Kiss Your Mother With That Mouth? – The anti-cult has now produced the logical result of its never-ending pursuit of public displays of lust: porno “poets”, nay, FEMALE, porno “poets”. Rod Dreher informs us of the “poet’s”, Rupi Kaur’s, penchant for writing about then photographing and displaying her body’s “lady time”. Folks, this is sick, but over 1,000,000 young girls have purchased it. “After Instagram banned a photo, published as part of a university assignment, showing Kaur lying in bed with her pyjamas and sheets stained with a small amount of menstrual blood, Kaur fought back. She pointed out the hypocrisy of being censored by a site that readily publishes photos of underage girls who are “objectified” and “pornified”. Followers flocked to her, cheering her on as she added, “I will not apologise for not feeding the ego and pride of misogynist society that will have my body in underwear but not be okay with a small leak.”  This poor, demented soul has over 722,000 “followers” on Instagram – Rev Jim Jones is looking more sane and well-balanced by the day – and has sold over 500,000 copies of her “poetry” book Milk and Honey. The book is a how-to commit sexual mortal sin with no one else in the room for young girls and teenage girls are actually asking for it for Christmas! Perhaps that is because female high school newspaper editors are giving it rave reviews IN their school newspapers. Think I’m making that up? Read and truly weep: “The messages are simple to understand and it would be quite difficult for a young girl to not be able to find a relatable poem in this book, since the topics are so broad and so centered on women’s feelings and struggles.” Here is an excerpt from Milk and Honey, quick, get to amazon and add it to the bundle including Shades of Grey, wish-listed for your 12 year old. I digress…

Ronald McDonald Decrees: Fat Petulant ‘Muricans To Get More Fat And Petulant – I have coined a lot of new terms in 2016 e.g.  Has-Been-Media, lgBtqRSTLNE and Trumpzilla. Let me add my first fast-food franchise to the list: Shovels. At your local Shovels Restaurant, the cast extras from Pixar’s WALL-E, drive up, bellies tucked under their steering wheels, and order a simple variety of grossly fattening foods, brought via roller skates to their cars by the only skinny people left on earth. There, the attendants do the light work of taking payment and then perform Shovels signature service: shoveling the junk directly into the mouths of the “diner”. Don’t laugh, that is the premise of WALL E and now that McDonald’s will be delivering fattening sludge to your house in 2017, we’re closer to boarding the blimp shaped space ark then ever before. How ’bout a Fresca! In Brave New World, Aldus Huxley’s dark, 1932 warning, of the events we currently call life, the character, Linda is so disgusted at being fat that she hasn’t the energy to be disgusted by it. “Finally-and this was by far the strongest reason for people’s not wanting to see poor Linda-there was her appearance. Fat; having lost her youth; with bad teeth, and a blotched complexion, and that figure (Ford!)-you simply couldn’t look at her without feeling sick, yes, positively sick. So the best people were quite determined not to see Linda. And Linda, for her part, had no desire to see them. The return to civilization was for her the return to soma, was the possibility of lying in bed and taking holiday after holiday, without ever having to come back to a headache or a fit of vomiting, without ever being made to feel as you always felt after peyotl, as though you’d done something so shamefully anti- social that you could never hold up your head again.”

Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe, My Mother Said To Pick The Very Best One… – The WaPo reveals HOW Trumpzilla came to choose Rex Tillerson as his pick for Secretary of State and it wasn’t through “vetting”. This has sent the Has-Been-Media into fits of rage over Trump’s “unorthodox” method of selection, almost as if he went to a sou kitchen and went “Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe, My Mother Said To Pick The Very Best One…” (which would have yielded better results than Madeline Albright). But isn’t that the point about the Trump phenomena? If what Mordor on the Potomac has been doing for the last 50 years is “orthodox” then to begin the repair would require blasphemy to that Orthodox or “unorthodox” behavior and acts, right? Consider this dismissive account of part of the process from the WaPo, dripping with condescension: “Names were floated, aides took sides, and Trump grew increasingly disenchanted. Many Trump traits were in evidence, from the reality-show-like parade of candidates, to the dismissal of onetime allies [bold mine-MC], to the efforts by aides to influence him through tweets and television appearances. The process reflected Trump’s refusal to be rushed or pushed and showed how he was not necessarily beholden to his strongest supporters or inclined to dismiss his most strident critics, on the right terms, yet yearned for a personal connection. And he did not seem worried about the potential for a difficult confirmation, even as Republican lawmakers began to speak up, questioning Tillerson’s perceived close ties to Russia.” gasp! He did not seem worried, that orthodox Mordor might not approve! No, not that! I don’t know much about Tillerson outside his disastrous presidency of The Boy Scouts but this story keeps my maverick hopes alive.

Time For Trump To tell The Has-Been-Media: “You’re Fired” – On the Constitution hour with Kevin Gutzman (listen to this episode here), we have been discussing the idea that Pres-elect trump should do away with having an office for a press secretary and do his own media briefings, when and where he wants to do them to his benefit. It is well know that the White House “Press Corps” (as if they’re a military unit!) is sharpening bayonets and buying armor piercing rounds to inflict as much damage as possible on the President when he takes office and the “White House Briefing Room” is their war room. Why let these saboteurs play a home game? Heck, why even give them access to what the President is doing, there’s no rule that says he must comply? As Newt Gingrich points out, these people boast of their status as a title of nobility as if they’re part of the Constitution system itself; well, its time to stick a dagger in that carcass. “The Trump administration should use technology to reach the public with fewer or no middlemen. Why continue to advantage an incumbent press corps that hates the incoming president and has no intention of giving him a fair shot?” Amen, look forward to my daily White House briefings delivered here:

What Gentlemen Can Give as Gentlemen-like Christmas Gifts – C.R. Wiley at The Imaginative Conservative lays out a list of gifts a true “man of the world” might give out as Christmas gifts. I am compiling my list here and invite you to send your suggestions for it, via email, to me.

The First Amendment Says Absolutely Nothing About What Atheists Crave At Christmas – Another year and another apostate’s attack on the Christ part of Christmas. The Indiana ACLU found one apostate to “protest” the placing of a handmade wooden Crucifix on Knightstown Indiana’s Christmas tree claiming it was “unconstitutional”. The ludicrous reasoning employed by the ACLU’s planted hack is typical: “The cross is the best known symbol of Christianity and Knightstown’s prominent display of this symbol represents an establishment of religion in violation of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.” First of all, the Federal Constitution and it’s 1st Amendment say absolutely nothing about Knightstown Indiana and what it can display on its public property, but the Indiana State Constitution does:  “Section 2. Right to worship – All people shall be secured in the natural right to worship ALMIGHTY GOD, according to the dictates of their own consciences. Section 3. Freedom of religious opinions. No law shall, in any case whatever, control the free exercise and enjoyment of religious opinions, or interfere with the rights of conscience. Section 4. Freedom of religion. No preference shall be given, by law, to any creed, religious society, or mode of worship; and no person shall be compelled to attend, erect, or support, any place of worship, or to maintain any ministry, against his consent. Section 5. No religious test for office. No religious test shall be required, as a qualification for any office of trust or profit. Section 6. No state money for religious institutions. No money shall be drawn from the treasury, for the benefit of any religious or theological institution.” There is absolutely NOTHINg in this that precludes 2, sweet, Christian, little of ladies, from constructing a Crucifix by hand and DONATING it to the town for the tree. Just ask James Madison.

Dear Leader’s War Crime Assistance Continues In Yemen – The atrocities being committed against the civilian population in Yemen have been well documented on this page as has been the U.S. government’s complicity in their commission through arms sales, planning and intelligence gathering on behalf of Saudi Arabia. Yesterday an Obama flack told the world that the Obama Admin and thus the U.S, whether we like it or not,  admits the atrocities, slaps the Saudi’s wrists, then pledges to increase the “military aid” that has led to the slaughter of tens of thousands. “Now, following months of deliberation, the administration has reached a set of interim conclusions, the official said, including a decision to reduce sharing of intelligence that the United States believes could be used to conduct similar problematic strikes in the Houthi campaign. At the same time, U.S. officials will continue or even increase other kinds of intelligence sharing, on targets such as al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) or when the United States sees legitimate Saudi concerns about Houthi aggression.” Michael Horton reminds ‘Muricans, ignorant of this genocide and our part in it, the payback will come. “The war in Yemen has received little media attention. Yet it is just as brutal as the war in Syria. Blowback from U.S. policy in Yemen that supports Saudi Arabia’s war against the country’s Houthi rebels will be profound for both the region and, potentially, for the United States.” The bomb, bomb, bomb, crowd is blissfully unaware of this travesty and that shows, again, just how out of scale this monstrous government has become.

It’s December And The Immodesty Is About To Go Nuclear Because It WENT Nuclear – Venerable Bishop Sheen called out ‘Muricah back in the 1960’s while speaking to a group of young Catholics on “Youth and Sex”: “8:15 in the morning, the 6th of August, 1945, when we flew a military plane over this city, when we dropped that atomic bomb on it; that bomb on blotted out boundaries. There was no longer a boundary between the military and the civilian, between the helper and the helped, between the wounded and the nurse and the doctor, between the living and the dead. For even the living who escaped the bomb were already half dead. So we broke down boundaries and limits and from that time on the world has said we want no one limiting me. … You want no restraint, no boundaries, no limitsI have to do what I want to do. Now let’s analyze that for a moment, is that happiness?”

The Tragedy of Post Christian, Philosophia Perennis Devoid ThinkingRead this piece from AmConMag writer Noah Millman to get a closeup view of why Philosophia Perennis is so desperately needed to corral the erroneous thinking Men are sure to engage in when NOT grounded in the eternal quest for True Wisdom i.s. Sapientia. The issue Noah, is not whether “only the Saints” can live by the Magisterial code, it is that by God’s Grace the Saints DID live the Tradition WHILE receiving the Graces needed to do so. You cannot approach Grace as zero sum, mathematics, as in if I do ______ I will receive ______ “Grace credits” but if I do ______I will have deducted ______ Grace Credits. Grace is present in the world and we are given the supply needed at Baptism, the suffering of the Christian Faithful is simply to maintain the state you enter at Baptism, using the Gospels and the Traditional Teaching as MEANS to that END. As Padré Gaetano tells us in Humility of Heart: “And has not a saint abundant reasons, from the thought of his own weakness, to live always in a state of great humility, when he knows that from one hour to another he may lose the grace of God and the kingdom of heaven which he has merited by years of laboriously-acquired virtues? “Unless the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.”
