All civilizations need their own heroes and hero-stories and post-revolutionary ‘Muricah was no exception. The problem with the mythology of ‘Muricah is that it became a creed that is still being professed today. This creed basically holds that you can have all the wonderful parts of feudal Christendom without the pesky Catholicism (itself imbued with a colossal catalog of heroes and stories) parts.
