What is it about the word “peace” that has so many committing such violence to avoid it? What is it about the word “war” that has so many denying that when the United States drops bombs on a country it was not invited to bomb, it has committed an act of war? Finally, why is it that so many so called “conservatives” spend their lives bellyaching about President Obama and Mary Landrieu  shredding the U.S. Constitution, while they ask the President to “shred the Constitution” when it suits their own schemes? Welcome to the inverted world of republicanism that mass democracy has forced upon Louisiana and the rest of the USA.

Back in August, President Obama was threatened with impeachment if he tried to “shred the Constitution” and “claim powers that belong to Congress” by passing an Executive Order “amnesty” while Congress was in recess. Previously the same “conservatives” had threatened Obama’s impeachment over using executive orders to change ObamaCare because that is a power “reserved to Congress.” Well lo and behold, look at how the world of Congress has changed. In an editorial this morning, Senators McCain and Graham argue that Obama is not fulfilling “his [Syria] mission” which they claim is to remove President Assad and bring about “transition” in that government. That’s funny, because #1 only Congress declare war and assign missions and #2 Congress didn’t do either of those two things against Syria or Assad. Meanwhile Mary Landrieu voted for the non-declaration of non-war but claimed Obama already had that authority. Really, where!? Yet I can’t find a single “conservative” that called Landrieu out on this blunder, probably because they agree?

Missing from all this insanity is the preferred term of the statesman and diplomat: peace. A condition that may only be brought about by dividing the American voting population into smaller, pieces.
