And The Trumpzilla Titanic’s Band Played On As The Ship Sank Into The Depths of The Swamp

Mandeville, LA – World Net Daily has a really detailed roundup of all the Cabinet level picks or candidates for picks that President elect Donald Trump has made thus far and too many of them are raising red flags about “draining the swamp” which may be morphing into “making the swamp less stinky” (swamps do smell after all). The WND headline says it all:

Most disturbing of all are the career hacks like Elaine Chao or Mrs Mitch McConnell, DeceptiCONS Mitt “for brains” Romney, David Patraeus and John Bolton. Then the coup de main, Trump has name yet another former Goldman Sachs Executive as Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin. These devedlopments don’t sink the possibility that the USS TrumpTanic is going to sink, but they do not bode well for those who, like me, were excited to tears when we read the transition statement about the Constitution:

As President, Donald Trump will fulfill that sworn duty, vetoing legislation that exceeds Congressional authority, taking actions as Chief Executive and Commander-in-Chief that are consistent with his constitutional role, and nominating Judges and Supreme Court Justices who are committed to interpreting the Constitution and laws according to their original public meaning. He will defend Americans’ fundamental rights to free speech, religious liberty, keeping and bearing arms, and all other rights guaranteed to them in the Bill of Rights and other constitutional provisions. This includes the Tenth Amendment guarantee that many areas of governance are left to the people and the States, and are not the role of the federal government to fulfill.

Those tears of excitement are turning to sighs of “business as usual” but we;’ll keep praying the Novena for Our Nation and hoping the pro-life promises made are at least kept. Now, as I have talked about on-air the last 3 weeks, a REAL bold move for Trump would look like this:

“Today I am announcing the closing of 3 Cabinet level Federal agencies; these closings will take place over a period of 1 year as a task force is commissioned to distribute their duties to other federal agencies or back to the states where the 10th Amendment says they belong. I am not making these moves for any other reason than to begin the process of ‘draining the swamp’ and restoring a constitutional order to our government. The agencies are: The Departments of Energy, Education, Housing and Urban Development. The Department of Transportation, Commerce Department and Department of Labor serve no function that cannot be carried out by the private sector or the states if they so choose and I will therefor not be filling those cabinet positions. The Department of Homeland Security and the TSA will be shut down over a period of 2 years as other federal agencies and the private sector assume or resume the functions and services they carry out. I am appointing Mitt Romney to be the chair person of the task force that will oversee these changes, he will be assisted by Governor Bobby Jindal who act as liaison to the states. Governor Romney, Jindal and I will update you with other appointments and actions as we get this process underway. Thank you very much.”

Alas, as my friend Kevin Gutzman likes to say “hope springs eternal”, right?
