Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Video and Audio – Back in the time that Ben Franklin started publishing there weren’t newspapers as we think of them, there were periodicals, but you couldn’t really rely on them for news. So Franklin’s idea was to publish these newspapers every day, since there’s news every day! And one way to support this venture was to take on ads (probably one of the first persons to ever do this). When Franklin began taking ads he began receiving nasty letters about why he turned down some ads, so in typical Franklin fashion, he replied back in his own paper in essay form. He said that basically he can’t win, he’s published articles in his paper that he’s disagreed with and articles that have lost him money. You just can’t please all of the people all of the time.
