Ferrara et Al: No, Pope Francis, We Will Not Obey, And You Must Desist

Mandeville, LA – If I added a CRUSADER member to the Founder’s Pass member site for every email, Facebook message, text message and verbal taunt I have received as a result of Pope Frances’s unorthodox embrace of apostates, communist tree huggers, heresies and even dangerous endorsements of religious pluralism, I would have enough capital to buy ads during the Super Bowl for The CRUSADE Channel. Now comes frequent site and Mike Church Show contributor Christopher Ferrara with Michael Matte and John Vennari in an open letter, rebuking Pope Frances and demanding he cease damaging the Church and the teaching she has protected for most of 2,000 years. Folks, this is courage and defense of The Truth on display, backed up with Gospel authority:

“Of course we are nothing in the scheme of things, and yet as baptized lay members of the Mystical Body we are endowed with the God-given right and the correlative duty, enshrined in Church law (cf. CIC can. 212), to communicate with you and with our fellow Catholics concerning the acute crisis your governance of the Church has provoked amidst an already chronic state of ecclesial crisis following the Second Vatican Council. Private entreaties having proven utterly useless, as we note below, we have published this document to discharge our burden of conscience in the face of the grave harm you have inflicted, and threaten to inflict, upon souls and the ecclesial commonwealth, and to exhort our fellow Catholics to stand in principled opposition to your continuing abuse of the papal office, particularly where it concerns the Church’s infallible teaching against adultery and profanation of the Holy Eucharist.”

Note that Ferrara et al do not question the Pontifcate but rather this particular Pontiff. Note also that is but part ONE of a two part indictment against the Holy Father and it is actually overdue. Let this effort show that the Church Militant i.e. Catholics, do not blindly and without question obey the mortal occupant of the Holy Office and his every utterance but instead obey, to the point of personal loss of stature, rebuke and even death, the teaching AUTHORITY of His office: the Magisterium; that is not at issue and cannot be at issue. As Christians we are all called “on bended knee” to humiliate ourselves in obeisance to the teachings of Christ and so is the Holy Father. This is the crux of Ferrara et al’s Liber of Accusation. I concur with their complaint and pray for the Holy Ghost’s intercession. O’ Lord may we  be favored with His Holiness Pope Pius XIII.

LIBER OF ACCUSATION – By the grace of God and the law of the Church, a complaint against Francis, Roman Pontiff, on account of danger to the Faith and grave harm to souls and the common good of the Holy Catholic Church.

“Therefore, just as it would be lawful to resist a Pontiff invading a body, so it is lawful to resist him invading souls or disturbing a state, and much more if he should endeavor to destroy the Church. I say, it is lawful to resist him, by not doing what he commands, and by blocking him, lest he should carry out his will…”
