Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Just consider that many people, before they’ll tell someone good morning, will call them a racist on Facebook. You don’t know that person. Trust me, I have a piece on Facebook that’s now been viewed over a million times simply because I posted a photograph of a Klan march in Washington, DC in 1924 where all the klansmen were brandishing American flags. My point was simple. No one actually read what I wrote. Check out today’s transcript for the rest….

Mike: This is Jeff in Indiana next up on the Mike Church Show on the Sirius XM Patriot Channel. Hello, Jeff, how you doing?
Caller Jeff: Doing fine, Mike. Hey, uh, I’ve been a student of the American Civil War for close to 40 years. I think what most people don’t realize is that 90 percent of the Confederate soldiers who fought under the Confederate flag never owned a slave. The thing is that these were individuals who fought because they felt like they were being invaded and felt like the tyranny was being forced upon them. They defended their homes. They defended their families, their loved ones. Again, I don’t have a tie to the Confederate flag. I’m directly descended from ten ancestors who fought for the Union. As a historian, I can sympathize with the Southerners who were proud of their ancestors. Again, 90 percent of them could have cared less about the institution of slavery. Again, they fought for other reasons than to be cruel to African-Americans. It’s something that most Americans don’t understand. I guarantee you Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton never even considered that, but that’s another story.
Mike: Just consider that many people, before they’ll tell someone good morning, will call them a racist on Facebook. You don’t know that person. Trust me, I have a piece on Facebook that’s now been viewed over a million times simply because I posted a photograph of a Klan march in Washington, DC in 1924 where all the klansmen were brandishing American flags. My point was simple. No one actually read what I wrote. The point was simple. What flag are those racist white supremacists marching under? [mocking] “Yeah, but that was then and this is now.” No, no, no. You say that this symbol must be gotten rid of because it is a symbol of slavery and racism and all that stuff. The Klan represents a violent – not only is it racist and white supremacist and xenophobic and all that stuff, and those are just clichés that we use. When you boil it down, they’re a bunch of apostates, a bunch of heretics, a bunch of blasphemers. They actually use symbology of our precious Lord and Savior and use that symbology to try to justify their actions, as if Christ chose them as the chosen ones. You want to talk about being offended. [mocking] “Mike, are you offended at what the Klan does?” You bet your bottom I’m offended by it, and for more reasons than you, not just because it applies to corporeal atrocities committed against man. It is more offensive that they blaspheme our Lord. They’re using symbology to blaspheme our Lord. What do you think is going to happen to them?
This is how pathetic this discussion is. If people were telling me that they have serious problems because they are devout, very devout and observant and reverent Christians and that’s why they’re offended by the rebel flag and the people using it today, okay, then you’re really offended by the people. It’s not the flag. You probably know this, Jeff. The cross in the center of the flag comes from the Scottish flag. The Scottish flag is the oldest surviving flag on Earth. That is the cross of St. Andrew. For those of you that aren’t Catholic and don’t study the lives of the saints and martyrs, you may not know this. Why is it the cross of St. Andrew, do you know?
Caller Jeff: St. Andrew was crucified on that cross.
Mike: That’s right. To drive the point home about the Klan and its blasphemy of that cross – the cross represents all that is good with this creation, all of God’s creation. He came here to die for all of us, not for a few, for all, or for many that sins can be forgiven.
