Join Me For The 33 Day Devotion: Total Consecration To Jesus Through Our Lady

Mandeville, LA – A personal message to you all.

To all my brother and sisters in Christ: I plan to begin the 33 day long Total Consecration to Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary on Nov 5th, the last day this year for the Consecration rotation. I am telling you this in the hopes that some of you will join me in this most reverent act to get closer to Our Lord via the method laid out by St Louis de Monfort. This is a long, intense act that requires a level of devotion most of us don’t have, including me, but that’s the point: to try and gain it. Here is a brief explanation.

“Total Consecration to Mary, explains St. Louis, “consists in surrendering oneself in the manner of a slave to Mary, and to Jesus through her, and then performing all our actions with Mary, in Mary, through Mary, and for Mary” (The Secret of Mary, No. 28). It is also known as “True Devotion to Mary,” “Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary,” and “Holy Slavery.”

UPDATE ON THE TOTAL CONSECRATION TO JESUS THROUGH MARY.
We begin this devotion tomorrow. I am blessed and humbled to report that 8 others have decided to take the spiritual journey with me (deum magnum est!). “What is Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary? Total Consecration Jesus is an absolutely beautiful exercise to increase your spirituality and ability to truly serve our Lord Jesus Christ. The basic premise set forth by St. Louis Marie de Montfort is simply that Jesus came into the world through Mary and that for us to always be assured of being close to Jesus, even closer than ever before, we should go through Mary.

Initially, this idea may seem strange to some. Why consecration? And why consecration through Mary? What does that even mean?

Consecration means to set aside for a sacred purpose. Mary’s life was set aside for the sole purpose of serving our Lord. By following her example, we, too, can completely give ourselves to Christ in a fundamental way that consecrates us to Him. We give our lives to Him in service and love.

Consecration to Jesus through Mary according to the method of St. Louis de Montfort is a method used by Pope John Paul II and it is this consecration that lead to the founding of Rosary Army in 2003.”
