Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Paul Ryan claims that his budget is radical. But what is so radical about continuing the expansion of government? That’s what we’ve been doing for the last 100 years. The only real difference between Ryan’s budget and Obama’s budget is that public debt would be at $23 Trillion instead of $24.5 Trillion, foreign creditors already own half of our debt and that’s not going to change under Ryan’s budget. Mike: You have Ryan at Georgetown University?
AG: Yep, we’ve got that queued up.
Mike: Let’s listen to this Draconian, drastic approach to our fiscal malaise. Folks, I warn you, you may hear things that will send you into the bathroom. They’re not going to send you into the bathroom for fear. They’re going to send you into the bathroom to splash cold water on your face to awaken yourself. I’m warning you.

Rep. Paul Ryan: The good news is there’s a better approach, a budget passed by the House of Representatives that would lift the debt and free the nation from the constraints of ever-expanding government. If enacted, this budget would promote economic growth and opportunity starting today, with bold reforms to the tax code and a principled plan to prevent a debt crisis from ever happening.

Mike: There’s got to be more than that, right?
AG: You’ll get a couple clips.
Mike: How do you prevent a debt crisis from happening? You mean the one that is currently happening, the one that is currently in full bloom of its manhood? It’ll get better. Don’t worry. We’ve only seen the start of it. I’m curious, stranger. You strangely interest me. Let’s hear more of this messiah of radicalism.

Rep. Ryan: If our generation fails to meet its defining challenge, we would see America surrender her independence to an army of foreign creditors who now own roughly half of our public debt. It pains me to say this, but the president’s policies guarantee that outcome if we don’t turn this around soon.

Mike: So we’re going to be owed to an army of foreign creditors. They own half of our public debt and if we don’t do what he says we should do in his budget plan, then these foreign creditors are going to come knocking on the door. Why aren’t they knocking on the door now? Ladies and gentlemen, you do realize that this Draconian — I’ll tell you what’s troubling about this, this is all part of the scam. Anyone that believes that this fixes the problem or even addresses it, I would just like to know what it is that you are consuming. Please, may I have some? There’s ridiculous and then there is just downright silly. So deficits will continue to accrue; they will continue to mount.
Public debt, instead of going to $24.5 trillion, I think, under the Obama plan, under the Ryan plan, it goes to a meager $23 trillion. Ooh, saving a trillion. Ooh, aah, we can’t suffer that. The amazing thing about it all is that less than one-third of the American sheeple approve, according to the latest Pew Research Center poll that’s all the rage today, actually approve of what this monstrosity is doing, yet no one seems to have the good common sense to tell it to stop. There’s got to be more to this. Play Mr. Radical for me.

Rep. Ryan: As I go around Southern Wisconsin and visit with Americans explaining that our debt is on track to cripple the economy, showing people charts and graphs to back it all up, they often ask me, “Is it too late? Is it too late to save America from a diminished future? Is the American experiment over?” It’s a difficult question. It’s one that gives me a little pause. Frankly, it’s one that keeps me up at night. The honest answer is the one I’m about to give you. Nobody gets rich betting against the United States of America and I’m not about to start.
[end audio clip]
Mike: It’s radical. I’m in shock. My mouth is hanging open. My mouth is agape. I have nothing to add. Whew! Those of you that are in shock and have run for the exit, please come back in. It’s safe to listen now.
