• Advent Ember Days preexist the Ember Days – it is a uniquely Western practice. Fasting to sanctify the four seasons. Ember Saturday in any of these seasons, the readings are super long. In most Masses you have one collect but in Ember Days there are multiple ones built-in. One of the reasons for this is – b/w the different readings men would be elevated to the different orders.
• These usually occur at the time of changing of the seasons. For ordinations and to sanctify the seasons.

• Conclusion – frequent Church attenders are still a minority in the Republican party members. They talk a good game.

• This answers my question from earlier on where the prayer rally is for Brett Kavanaugh.
