Mandeville, LA“The Tea Party professes to harbor a high degree of skepticism toward media elites and politicians. It need only apply that skepticism regardless of ideology.” – Conors Friersdorf, The Atlantic

Prof Clyde Wilson demonstrates yet again, why he is a voice to be reckoned with and for in the counter-offensive waged to preserve SOME of the Founders’ political and social legacy

Reason # 1,398 to hate the NFL: The Baltimore Ravens accepted $130k to promote ObamaCare using the team in TV, radio and billboard ads. Umm, shouldn’t the über civic minded, always bragging on  their charity creds NFL be boosting the greatest law for the poor’s benefit in the history of poor benefit laws!?

via Kevin Gutzman’s Facebook page, “If you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it!” said President Obama back during the sales pitch for ObamaCare. Well, well, let us see how that’s working out for most folks these days as Kaiser & Blue Cross are kicking MILLIONS off their insurance plans and more are sure to follow

It’s official: One half of the U.S. population is now suckling on the Medicaid teat according to the census, meaning over 151 MILLION Americans are now receiving government subsidized “benefits”. In what kind of civilization and among what character of people do we live!?

Yes Virginia, there are human beings who work for Leviathan and one of them just quit their job at the IRS after listening to a Tom Woods podcast!

Will the Air Force Academy drop “God” from their oath or will they just drop the oath? Back in the day, most military schools doubled as seminaries or vice versa yet James Madison famously insisted that the Army could not hire a chaplain because choosing one from a denomination over another would constitute an “establishment”

Peggy Noonan’s advice to the Tea Party ” Stop being taken in by senators who fund-raise off your anger. It’s good you’re indignant, but they use consultants to keep picking at the scab, not to move the ball forward, sorry to mix metaphors.” Cue up the firestorm from Teddie & The Cruzer’s outrage in 3, 2, 1 ….

Does the “conservative media” wind machine contribute to the mis-information the Tea Partiers carry about, insisting it is Gospel Truth? Conors Friersdorf thinks it does and I mostly agree

Last Train to Brokesville – if the current run of $325 BILLION in new debt per week (since the “shutdown occurred) continues and bond market investors keep their voracious appetites up, the U.S. debt will top $20 TRILLION when the current no-limit, debt limit expires on 07, Feb, 2014

Spies Like US – Now the NSA is pegged for tapping the phone conversations on the private cellphone of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, a charge that the White House’s bullhorn, Jay Carney denied, meaning OFFICIAL Germany demanded a public apology for the shocking act of dis-respect toward an “ally”

Rod Dreher wants to know exactly “what LinkedIn is for”, ’tis a question I have asked too

Mike, if we back out the 49.9 million on SS, the 46.4 million on Medicare, and the 3.2 million receiving Veterans benefits, (102.2 total), the number drops to 48.8 million or 16%. Still way too high to be sure. I earned my SS through 44 years of work and will never recover what I put in if I was getting nominal interest on my money. The Veterans earned their benefits through their service.

Rich Brys: Most of the SS and Medicare recipients are the same people. So, you should only subtract about 50 million for both those combined. That, plus the veterans, gives us 32%. Way too high for a resilient, robust society.
