Tuesday Pile of Prep – Militia Patriots, NV Land-Dispute Edition TheKingDude

Times_That_Try_Mens_Souls_3_quarter_viewMandeville, LAMike Church‘s daily Pile of Prep, chock full of the latest tyranny bloviated out by NV Harry Reid at NV rancher Cliven Bundy while slandering militia patriots. I’ll also cover the facts surrounding taxes in early America and what a joke they were compared to the thievery suffered today.  Read along with Mike’s historical viewpoint to help make sense of it all plus other [r]epublican stories used to perform the Mike Church Show on Sirius/XM Patriot channel 125. “Desanctifying words [like conservatism] and meaning of permanency becomes an increasingly common practice embodied in behemothian attitudes… as Richard M. Weaver, …stated in … “Relativism and the Use of Language” (1961), we are no longer “receptive to true meanings…[and] may accept wrong or perverted ones.” … Weaver uses … [a] John Milton’s letter dated September 10, 1638, [to warn] “language becomes irregular and depraved, it is followed by…ruin and degradation. For what do terms used without [style] or meaning, which are corrupt and misapplied, denote but a people listless, supine, and ripe for servitude?” Coupling Milton’s warning and Weaver’s anxieties helps to explain what is happening to the term conservatism in our present situation, auguring a fate, as Weaver reminds us, similar to that of “liberalism”: “beyond any hope of rehabilitation.”  [thus] The word conservatism has been so much relativized that its meaning and import are now shorn of noetic and dialectical validity. – George Panichas – Imaginative Conservative

Are you a domestic terrorist? Well, if you harbor  a view of America land-use policy that is rooted in the Founding Era, backed up by the spirit of that law, you are, in SENATOR Harry Reid’s opinion, a domestic terrorist. “The Silver State’s two U.S. senators never raised their voices and the dispute kept a respectful tone. But the disagreement fell across sharp philosophical lines that have defined some of the most passionate feelings in modern American politics. Are militia and anti-government groups a threat to American life? Or is the federal government the problem?” – Fox 31, Las Vegas

Bible Belt residents leave the comfort of Protestant America for the wildness of Denver’s 4/20 “celebration” which just happened to fall on Easter

Republicans are the party of tax-cuts that turn into tax increases and fund the welfare/warfare states

In the internet age it is nearly impossible to NOT republish commentary or narrative from a contemporary source without appearing to “plagiarize” it. A site that calls itself Buzzfeed, generates “buzz” where there is none by claiming that not copyrighted campaign platforms are exclusive and worthy of protection for the authors while the benefits are “public”? Yeah, how’s that going to work?

What would a drone strike on an American wedding, funeral or workout in the park look like? Here’s what it LOOKS LIKE

Speaking of Drone Wars and the SpyFare state, Glenn Greenwald has won the Pulitzer Prize (as I predicted on last Tuesday’s show) for his reporting on the NSA and the Edward Snowden disclosures, Greenwald promises there is much more to come from Snowden

The NSA’s “Yes-man” and lead spokesman for warrantless surveillance, Rep. Peter King calls Greenwald’s award a “disgrace”. Who would King have favored for the award,  Rich Lowry for childishly savaging Senator Rand Paul’s “foreign policy”? O’Reilley for “Killing Lincoln”?

Bundy update: OK militia members join the protest for an end to Federal land ownership and justice for Cliven Bundy. Senator Inhofe claims militia members are “taking the law into their own hands” but isn’t that what the Feds have done since the end of the “Civil War”?

Senator Rand Paul responds to harpies Rich Lowry, Richard Cohen and Jennifer Rubin (that’s the short list) on accusations he is an Iranian “appeaser”, will not defend the U.S. if attacked and on whether or not the U.S. should be a “strong nation”. Paul gets most things right, a few things cloudy and 1 thing a sop to nationalists guised as “exceptionalists”. B-

Good Lord-really. A cross erected by San Diego residents to honor & memorialize their war dead is NOT a violation of the Firs Amendment unless Congress erected the thing and requires people to observe it as religious and denominational should they pass within 50 feet. THIS is why the Incorporation Doctrine is so dangerous and powerful for nationalists and further why it is folly for conservatives to embrace the doctrine in ANY form

DeceptiCONS rally against Senator Rand Paul, quoting Reagan then make statements on why the U.S must not ALLOW Iran to get a nuke as if it is our job, prerogative, raison deter to insure no one gets a nuke. You mean like the Pakistanis? The Indians? The Chinese? North Koreans? We only excel at blackmail, soft war and coercion AFTER you get the bomb.

My favorite writer of the last 50 years is no doubt M.E. Bradford. Lee Cheek & Sean Busic have done us all wonderful favor by reviewing and essaying Bradford’s work into 2 essays posted at Nomocracy in Politics (H/T Imaginative Conservative!). Bradford wrote of Southern Conservatism “For the Agrarians, the measure of any economic or political system was its human product. Goods, services, and income are, to this way of thinking, subsidiary to the basic cultural consideration, the overall form of life produced. Of course, the Agrarians were anti-egalitarian. They knew the abstract drive toward Equality . . . to be the mortal enemy of the patriarchy.”

How do you become Editor of the National Review? You swallow 55 gallon drums full of american exceptionalism, gargle with a healthy does of Corporatism for Dummies then finish it off with the “naiveté” of Senator Rand Pal’s “foreign policy” which attracts the term “non-interventionist- so guys like Rich Lowry can endlessly sharpen his “death to Iran sword”

If Rich Lowry REALLY needs to see an example of the U.S. using war-like actions (and of course war) to enrich their buddies at defense contractors, look no further than the lobbied-for appropriations for Ukraine as late as YESTERDAY

This writer has been working with Cliven Bundy since 1992 and says his Constitutional case is solid and Bundy is solid as well

The Feds also left Cliven Bundy’s ranch a mess and didn’t bother to clean up their own garbage

The Week magazine presents a history of the land disputes that result in today’s federal tyranny over “public lands” including this graph which shows the shocking amount of land currently held as “public” by the national legislature of These United States

Geniuses at the CBO claim 6 million new souls now have “health coverage” thanks to the ObamaCare Act which is a bit like saying “6 million people living near clean, fresh water lakes now have drinking water thanks to the installation of “Clean Drinking Water” machines”

Woohoo! Where the Jobs Aren’t – Obama promises whopping $600 million jobs training program with funds appropriated by? Congress!? Silly rabbit…

Harry Reid pulls a Terminator, “We’ll be back” telling reporters about Cliven Bundy. “Hey BLM, you can’t talk and threaten my constituents like that… only I CAN talk and threaten my constituents.”[paraphrased by Y/T]

VIDEO BLM GO AWAYNevada citizens win standoff with BLM thugs trying to enforce the cattle confiscation against Cliven Bundy. BLM tasked these people for demonstrating against their invasion

Just what the Millennial generation need: übercroft ways of making money for not actuality doing anything other than “paying it forward.”

Cliven Bundy to Glen Beck: “We did our governor’s job and disarmed the BLM, chased them back to Utah.”

Speaking of working moms staying home more, they won’t have to risk banging their heads up against the glass ceiling Obama and members of Gal Queda keep thundering on about now that “health care” has been “fixed” what else is there for libs to do?

Citizen! Obey your Federal Overlords and surrender the Federal land and does, citizen! NV rancher is in armed standoff with Federales who claim they own his land and cows that his family has ranched since 1888. Can you say “Waco”?

The rancher, Clive Bundy, says his family owned the lands before federal tyrants claimed they did. Footnote: The battle is over protecting some stupid desert tortoise rumored to cross the property in question from time sot time

Emancipation Hell: Shortly after discovering that the people of the North could be motivated by the Puritan cause of abolition [of slavery] as opposed to the hapless cause of preserving a Union few were motivated to preserve, Lincoln and his generals concocted the idea of “total war” and thus he evil that was the “subjugation” of the South began in earnest. you won’t see that on a Ken Burns movie but you WILL find it daily at the Abbeville Institute

Has the impact of cursing in front of every living soul finally begun to lose its impact? Don’t f*#@ing* asks me you m*^#*%f–k-r. Maybe it has, maybe it has…

VIDEO: I received predictable hate mail after daring to criticize Cosmos’s Neill deGrasse Tyson’s claim that Creationism is bunk and claims to “prove” that “fact”. Here’s Dr. Thomas Woods demolishing the hate-mailers and others who claim that the Catholic Church has worked tirelessly to squash the sciences. Watch and learn…

The works of William Graham Sumner include a brilliant essay titled “The Forgotten Man” published in 1883. You can read the entire collected works under this title here, or find the abridged version with only The Forgotten Man essay in it on this site here

Why is it a bad idea to have a standing army just laying around? CATO, the 18th century Whig, read by most of the Founders, explains as an Englishmen, meaning this school of thought comes from the conservative tradition the Founders inherited and defended

When you hear your “conservative” friends yodel on endlessly about the “Liberal Media” or the corrupt “MSM” as they are convinced this is a recent event, send them here to go read Mark Twain’s speech of 1873 about the “corrupt press”

Here’s an interesting work that I recently discovered “The Crowd” by Guztave Le Bron a fascinating study of how crowds control nations and what nations become control crowds. No, it isn’t a paradox, it is the study of how inertia in public affairs is almost always missing when “change” is lusted for

This 1860 classic work details the type of manners and etiquette every young man should learn and live his life by. I just started reading the work myself and look forward to sharing much of it here and on-air. “THE GENTLEMEN’S BOOK OF ETIQUETTE, AND MANUAL OF POLITENESS”

“Our Federal Government” by Abel Upshur is an 1833 demolition of Justice Joseph Story’s fabricated history of the United States and her Constitution. WARNING: Reading this will increase your resolve to secede!

Mish: The insatiable appetite of war-mongers here and abroad is what’s driving the current “crisis” in Ukraine

Congratulations to the US for overthrowing yet another legitimate government (Ukraine) while telling all of us that the real evil is the Russkies who might try something like that in their own former territory, Crimea

Amtrak tells hick, hayseed riders their states need to fork over more tax dough to “repair” the line or they will lose “service”, more proof of how government subsidized industries always survive at the persons they server’s expense…

Q: How can Christians be certain about their Faith when the story of the Passion of Our Lord leaves so many questions left unanswered? A: This is where the mystery of faith comes in and provides counsel, some things, we will never know

The Fame of Our Fathers: What makes a famous Founder famous and why are so many, once famous, now not known at all? The answer lies partly in the fickleness of any given age and what it needs to exalt itself, the rest comes from the Founders own pursuit of Fame as I chronicled in Fame of Our Fathers. Here’s an audio sample explaining “conditores imperiorum” and you can buy the 3 CD set there
