The Picture of the NSA (above) is Illegal to photograph (story below)where the Obama Kill List is carried out

Liberty-the-God-that-FailedMandeville, LAMike Church‘s daily Pile of Prep, chock full of the latest [r]epublican news, reading selections and Mike’s take on the rethinking the American Union symposium at Nomocracy and the culture Remnants on display at the Sochi Olympics. Read along with Mike’s historical viewpoint to help make sense of it all plus other [r]epublican stories used to perform the Mike Church Show on Sirius/XM Patriot channel 125. “Nature has recourse at times to radical measures, but never after our fashion, which explains how it is that nothing is more fatal to a people than the mania for great reforms, however excellent these reforms may appear theoretically. They would only be useful were it possible to change instantaneously the genius of nations. This power, however, is only possessed by time. Men are ruled by ideas, sentiments, and customs—matters which are of the essence of ourselves. Institutions and laws are the outward manifestation of our character, the expression of its needs. Being its outcome, institutions and laws cannot change this character.” -Gustave Le Bron – The Crowd

Rethinking the American Union, Symposium, rolls on with Allen Mendenhall’s “Secession and messianic statism” at Nomocracy in politics.

Glen Greenwald completely demolishes the ridiculous and lethal claims that the President has a justified “right” to issue assassination orders to anyone on earth at any time anywhere. This new memo detailing the Obama Kill List parameters, if there are any, should scare the bejesus belt out of any liberty lover. “If you believe the president has the power to order US citizens executed far from any battlefield with no charges or trial, then it’s truly hard to conceive of any asserted power you would find objectionable.”

Now surf over to this blog featuring video of the Nagasaki nuclear bomb’s deployment and detonation and scroll through the comment section where you will discover the mindset that enables Obama to get away with the kill list atrocity e.g. “it’s a war and we’re Americans, if 1 of our guys is spared so what if 70,000 of their innocents are incinerated.” Using this analogy then it is conceivable to similarly state that the american public deserves blowback earned by our government’s overseas tyrannies, right?

ObamaCare employer mandate is altered by Dear Leader yet again, with “medium sized businesses” gaining a reprieve until 2016 to fully implement coverage for their employees. Not only does he have the Obama Kill List he also has the Obama Live List for business with the impotent Congress off twiddling its thumbs while Mordor burns

My guest appearance on the Tom Woods Show  discussing “Blobists” the rethinking of the American Union and our lethal foreign policy

Is there any argument that anyone can make to convince an avowed atheist that he is in need of conversion because he has just become convinced that there is a God? This piece by Rod Dreher explores the question

Ron Paul wants to know when someone, anyone, will stand up to Obama’s flagrant abuse of the executive order power we wantonly wields. Paul also notes, correctly, that abuse of the executive order is made possible by our foreign policy excesses

Boehner really has taken my plan to NOT raise the debt ceiling off the table as an option as The House of Representin’ cannot  get a GOP consensus on the debt ceiling hike of over $1 TRILLION but don’t worry, Democrats make strange bedfellows and legislation partners when Mordor’s appetite is on the line

Greenwald II: The Intercept reports, according to a NEW SOURCE that is NOT Edward Snowden, that the NSA is targeting people for assassination drone strikes by using their cell-phones meaning there is no confirmation they are killing the right perp on the Obama Kill List

Here’s an interesting work that I recently discovered “The Crowd” by Guztave Le Bron a fascinating study of how crowds control nations and what nations become control crowds. No, it isn’t a paradox, it is the study of how inertia in public affairs is almost always missing when “change” is lusted for

Albert J Nock’s: Isaiah’s Job (from Tuesday, 4 Feb, 2014 show-Ed.), the story of how the Remant is to be kept animated and active if Man is to survive perdition (our own path to destruction)

If you haven’t read Dante’s Inferno in a while, this site has the entire work broken down by segment/chapter, character and more

Murray Rothbrad delivers a brilliant history of the Progressive movement and the Federal Reserve it created

The Webster Hayne debates over the original intent of the federal union and the constitution got heated into high gear on 26 January, 1830 in the U.S. Senate. read the Webster-Hayne debates

Presenting George Clinton’s “Cato” letter, Number 3, sometimes referred to as AntiFederalist # 14. Cato explains why a large republic will never work and why smaller ones are preferred

This 1860 classic work details the type of manners and etiquette every young man should learn and live his life by. I just started reading the work myself and look forward to sharing much of it here and on-air. “THE GENTLEMEN’S BOOK OF ETIQUETTE, AND MANUAL OF POLITENESS”

“Our Federal Government” by Abel Upshur is an 1833 demolition of Justice Joseph Story’s fabricated history of the United States and her Constitution. WARNING: Reading this will increase your resolve to secede!

The Historical Writings of John Fiske, The American Revolution. If you are prepping for the upcoming pop quiz from my friends at Franklin’s Opus, on Valley Forge, this is a good start

The  counter-argument presented by John taylor of Caroline AFTER the government’s lawyer, Wickham, presented his case for the tax. I did not include this in the Carriage Tax Pamphlet but have found it online. Begin reading on pg 423.

Check out the “Prep Better” extended reading selection archives, for Founders Pass Members only.

The GOP promotes it’s “we don’t trust Obama” agenda as if that is actually an agenda. If they really wanted to oppose Obama, then they would dust off their constitutions and learn how to press an impeachment case

The Sherlock Holmes craze is missing one thing: the guys playing and portraying Holmes are NOT playing the Gentleman part as it was written and previously played. Where HAVE all the great gentleman gone?

Bill Murray

The marriage rate for college grads is making a comeback and that is exactly the point that Charles Murray made in his book “Coming Apart” back in 2012. Here is My interview with Murray

Do Libertarians secretly wish to always be in the minority and therefore cannot help themselves but to hate mother Libertarians for their public success? Bob Higgs thinks so

FLASHBACK: Jeffrey Tucker reminds us that the merchant class is the antithesis to the Leivathan state. Why, the, are we so rude and dismissive of their efforts? Here is my interview with Jeffrey on this from 2011.

Great men have made great stories under trees, yes trees as Brad Birzer recounts and inspires us to look to nature for strength and inspiration, from time to time

TICHow the Left Has Won. If you want to know why it seems like a Sisyphaen endeavor to accomplish any change in what I call the Anti Cult, this will explain some of it

So WHAT does the NSA actually look like these days? Is it the harmless little 5 story office building shown in most stories? Or is it this hulking, sprawling, menacing looking place where tens of THOUSANDS of cars can park so citizens can spy on their fellow citizens

Mish: The latest “jobs” report is a train wreck from start to finish and  shows that the long term trend is not where it is supposed to be

Eric Holder’s power grab in “enforcing equality under the law” for homosexual marriages is another example of an impeachable offense that will go unpunished or contested by Congress

The SCOTUS case, settled last year over DOMA actually forbids Holder from enforcing his marriage preferences on the states

But don’t worry, as CNN assures us, there is nothing to see hear, its a great rainbow flag world out there with settled questions of homosexual marriage and the legal framework needed to enforce it

VIDEO: More evidence of what I write about in the Daily Caller this week, the loss of the taboo of death brought on by never-ending wars and the military – government cult it empowers. Watch as an Iowa family is mortified by what look like professional soldiers from a M.I. film

Fame of Our Fathers CD set

The Fame of Our Fathers: What makes a famous Founder famous and why are so many, once famous, now not known at all? The answer lies partly in the fickleness of any given age and what it needs to exalt itself, the rest comes from the Founders own pursuit of Fame as I chronicled in Fame of Our Fathers. Here’s an audio sample explaining “conditores imperiorum” and you can buy the 3 CD set there

“Economists” study minimum wage, conclude raising it only hurts fuddy duddy joints like MickeyD’s because they are used to paying tube current wage BUT when they shut down after the hike, SHAZAM, Five Guys will “swoop in” to lap up those juicy $10.25 hour burger flipper jobs, EXPAND their profits and then take over the world.

Has the middle class been shown the Macy’s & Sears door because they can no longer afford to buy anything there?

Frohnen at TIC: Local, local, local! This venue for all politics is filled with “mugwumps” and petty corruptocrats but it is all we have left and the only place we can truly make a difference in our culture and our lives. “Local politics are small because their scale is small—a human scale. And so the foibles of human nature are on full display.”

TIC – What would Plato think about “progressive America?” Is progress for the sake of saying you “progressed” always an inherent good? What if in order to “progress” you actually have to regress by pretending that the greatness of the past never happened

So did this guy, who, drinking the ObamaCare Kool-aid, said EVERYONE would benefit

If you’re looking for a one page resource on everything Dear Leader has said about many subjects including the ACA, look no further

Stephen Klugewicz via Imaginative Conservative “The political right and common core” with the authors arguing that Common Core is a GOOD THING albeit misunderstood

F.A. Hayek knew that “planned” acts like “ObamaCare” will always fail because the planner can never possibly know or predict the precise ingredients or amounts that must go into making it work. “The common features of all collectivist systems may be described, in a phrase ever dear to socialists of all schools, as the deliberate organization of the labors of society for a definite goal. That our present society lacks such “conscious” direction toward a single aim, that its activities are guided by the whims and fancies of irresponsible individuals, has always been one of the main complaints of its socialist critics.”

MIKE CHURCH VIDEO – Mike has covered the death penalty cases of Ohio’s Dennis McGuire and Louisiana’s Christopher Sepulvado here

Where the UNION jobs aren’t, in San Bernadino as voters whackify, de-vote-a-nate, crap-can the entire, elected pro-union boosters

Still McCAin: The dynamic duo of Senators McCain & Graham team up to inform the world that Bashar Al Assad of Syria must be removed and our new al Queada buddies there, the “rebels”, must be armed to help bring that about

UPDATE: Senators on the same trip as McCain &* Graham now say that Kerry told them NOTHING about Syria “failing”. “The characterizations reported on today do not reflect the conversation that we heard. Neither of us recall the Secretary saying the policy of the Administration in Syria was failing, nor proposing new lethal assistance for Syrian opposition groups.”

UP IN SMOKE: Colorado legislators want to know that the stat’s marijuana salesmen can deposit their funds in FDIC insured banks and not worry about the Feds commandeering the funds for contraband sales

One false move and the kid gets it! Treasury Secretary tells reporters that if Congress doesn’t act to impoverish our children by borrowing more money they will have to pay back the “economy” will suffer even though the economy is actually suffering because of the central planning of interest rates and government spending

Boehner and compay “pull out all the stops” to reach a debt ceiling deal. All the stops except cutting spending to equal or be LESS than expenses that is

Are there “job lock” incentives built into federal welfare subsidies and now ObamaCare that will make some people who SHOULD quit their jobs, do so?

If CVS refuses to sell cigarettes that is not a “ban”, that is a choice of inventory every retailer makes. Using the term “ban” in the headlines implies that there is a legal move to end the joyous act of incinerating succulent tobacco leaves–there is–but CVS is not the plaintiff

What exactly is meant by the term “energetic government”? NY Times “conservative” David Brooks thinks he can hornswaggle people into believing it was what large numbers of 18th/19th century Founders were promoters of. To shed some light, Alexander Hamilton was fond of the term energetic government

NOMOCRACY IN POLITICS: Kevin Gutzman delivers a telling of the demise of the federal constitution’s impeachment clause that dates back to the earliest days under the Constitution… and we are still possessed of it today

NOMOCRACY IN POLITICS II: Ludwig von Mieses explains “Capitalism vs Socialism” and just why the fairy tale of fixing incomes to bring about equality is impossible and has the opposite effect

I am still baffled how the US Secretary of State has power over the Keystone Pipeline, as I have proposed in the past, this is commerce that would fall under the Senate’s treaty making power, the Executive Branch would either enforce this or be told that it could not, so why is the debt ceiling being bartered by the HOUSE in debt ceiling negotiations?

LATIN PHRASE OF THE DAY: Spero et captivus nitor – I hope, and though a captive, I strive

FLASHBACK to “Times That Try Mens Souls”, Mike’s latest feature length docudrama – The Widow Who Saved The Revolution, who was she? the mystery is finally revealed. This woman took the Hessian Colonel Donop into her home of Dec., 23rd and kept him there until December 27th, long enough to prevent him reinforcing Trenton, NJ and squashing Washington’s Crossing Cell Mates Snowden & Clapper!?

Rethinking The America Union. “Evaluating The Current Union of States” a symposium suggested by Y/T has now taken up at Nomocracy in Politics. This discussion is, IMHO long overdue and I look forward to provocative debate of the pros and cons of the current order. Essay #1 has been posted by Prof Bruce Frohnnen and it is worthy of your consideration

The idea of police becoming militarized is especially frightening. Not even a year ago, there was a murder in a small town not too far from where I live, for almost that entire next day, even though the perp had been caught a mere couple hours after the act, the police agencies of my county closed off an area encompassing more than a block. Not only did they do that (for investigation, more than likely, it’s a heavy traffic area), but they all guarded that area with rifles and decked out in full military regalia. This was not too long after the Boston Marathon Bombing, and the martial law-esque shenanigans, so that really frightened me. I’m at a loss due to these events, what do we do, as a citizenry, to encourage our police to return to the ideas of old?
