Mandeville, LA – Mike Church Show Exclusive Transcript – People give the government power. Only the people are sovereign. This is what you’ll learn. Only the people can grant power. In the grant of power, if there is no mechanism to take it back, then you’re not sovereign. This is something that I’m just learning from going back and reading source documents written by Jefferson, Taylor of Caroline and other luminaries, David Hume and others at the time. So if you people in Massachusetts or in whatever state, if you don’t like what it is that your legislature is doing or how it is consecrated, if you don’t have the power to take it back, then you’ve already lost your freedoms and you’re not sovereign anymore and then you’re in really big trouble.

Mike: This is Glenn in Indiana. You are next on The Mike Church Show. How are you doing?
Caller Glenn: Good morning, sir. You played a clip earlier of a guy ranting and raving with Cavuto. He brought up the point of what it’s costing you and it’s costing you thousands and thousands of dollars. That gets back to, with Medicaid, it was started, whenever. It’s like anything the government gets involved in, it’s going to come back later, I don’t care what it is, and it’s going to slap you in the face. As a couple callers made the point before, we’re doing this on the principle that we’re saving you money, that we’re protecting you, blah, blah, blah. My solution would be get your asses out of the insurance business. The government has no business in the insurance business. That’s for the insurance industry.
Mike: Boy, isn’t that the truth?
Caller Glenn: It’s really sickening. It doesn’t matter what they do, they’re going to screw it up. I don’t care what it is.
Mike: [laughing]
Caller Glenn: Think of anything in life, anything —
Mike: I’m laughing, Glenn, not at you. I’m just laughing. You sound an awful lot like me is why I’m laughing. I’m laughing with you, brother. I’m laughing with you.
Caller Glenn: I appreciate it. I’ve learned a lot in the last year from you. I was a diehard talk radio guy, Republican guy, big fan of the media and all that. Honest to God, I don’t listen to any of them anymore except for you. The reason is this: your thoughts and your ideas go straight back to where all this started. People really, really need to listen. You’re free to make your own mind up, but at least people out there, listen to what this man is saying.
Mike: Thank you very much, Glenn. I tell you, brother, if you like this, wait till you hear the little audio documentary, the follow-up, the sequel to Road to Independence that I’m working on. When I actually dig into explaining what a state is and what a sovereign people are, you’re going to have your doors blown, brother.
At the top of the hour, I was speaking to the gentleman about the project I’m working on here that I started writing about three weeks ago, and I’m still gathering all the research for it, about the sequel to Road to Independence. This has a little bit of bearing on today’s topic, which is the state of Taxachusetts banning the bake sales in public schools. Once upon a time, things like this were viewed as the folly of kings and monarchs. This is what a king would do, [mocking] “I declare the subjects of this empire shall not eat any more legumes.” This is something like a king would do. Kings have gone out of fashion. It is instructive to us today, or should be instructive to us today, that if the people give governmental power, and this is what you’re going to learn in the Free and Independent: Then and Now sequel to the Road to Independence.
People give the government power.
Basically, just to sum it up, if you lose or if you are told that you do not have power, the people don’t have the power, to reclaim the powers that they have granted to government, then you cannot be sovereign. You are basically a slave state. Let me tell you what’s going to happen in North Carolina today. There’s a vote today, three primaries: West Virginia, Indiana and North Carolina. President Obama is on the Democrat ticket, I assume, in those states. Ron Paul and Governor Romney are on the Republican Primary. In the State of North Carolina, there is a ballot initiative to make the definition of marriage legally as a union between one man and one woman.
I’m going to tell you people in North Carolina, if this ballot initiative passes, and the polls say that that is very likely, if this ballot initiative passes, here’s what’s going to happen. If it passes today, tomorrow you’ll be sued. You’ll probably be sued by someone that doesn’t live in your state and you’ll probably be sued in a federal court, which should have absolutely no jurisdiction over this whatever.
If in the grant of power to your legislature, if you’re telling that legislature by affirmative vote that you are taking back the power from them and they cannot use that power to confer marriage upon anyone else other than a man or a woman, and if you are told that you cannot do that, you have lost your sovereignty and you are the next in yet another series of slave states. You see how I apply what I’m learning as I’m writing Free and Independent: Now to Today. That’s what Jefferson would tell you. Boy, was he right.
