Shays Rebellion vs Wisconsin Mob RUle
2011 Mike Church
Hi folks its Mike Church with todays Church Doctrine.
I am watching the Union backed anarchists in Wisconsin try and break down the doors of the state capitol. This after the duly elected Governor and Legislature did what they campaigned to do: try and fix the states long term fiscal crisis. I say these people are anarchists because they apparently have no respect nor will they acknowledge this election; this is what anarchy is, an absence of government supplanted by a turn to mob rule.
The mob is operating in a fashion similar to the mobs organized by Daniel Shays of Shays Rebellion fame with one caveat: Shays men were aggrieved at taxes imposed on them without regard to their service in the Revolutionary War. To pay their taxes, many of the Shaysites had to sell their war notes at 1/4 of their original value. Governor James Boudin of MA added salt to these wounds by attempting to make leisure activities nearly illegal.
In the end though, Shays and his men were only able to delay debtor court hearings and the recall of Boudin. But the example of Shays was so shocking to some of the Founders, Washington included, that it escalated the calls for a convention to amend the Articles of Confederation. This convention produced the Constitution. The mob in WI unfortunately does not seem poised to produce anything other than a former pachouli stinking commune which used to be called the WI state House.
