Christian Citizen: Your Liberty To Be Christian Has Expired

Mandeville, LA – If you think that what SCOTUS has done is anything other than declared open government hostility to Christianity and The Church, please explain this passage from Chief Justice Roberts’ dissent.

“The majority graciously suggests that religious believers may continue to “advocate” and “teach” their views of marriage. The First Amendment guarantees, however, the freedom to “exercise” religion. Ominously, that is not a word the majority uses. Hard questions arise when people of faith exercise religion in ways that may be seen to conflict with the new right to same-sex marriage—when, for example, a religious college provides married student housing only to opposite-sex married couples, or a religious adoption agency declines to place children with same-sex married couples. Indeed, the Solicitor General candidly acknowledged that the tax exemptions of some religious institutions would be in question if they opposed same-sex marriage.

There is little doubt that these and similar questions will soon be before this Court. Unfortunately, people of faith can take no comfort in the treatment they receive from the majority today.”

That’s the secular authority issuing a warning. Now recall this from the Christian Authority, Pope Bendict XVI.

“Those who would move from tolerance to the legitimization of specific rights for cohabiting homosexual persons need to be reminded that the approval or legalization of evil is something far different from the toleration of evil.”

I predict we will very soon see communal, Catholic & Orthodox Christian gatherings of families and single laity. The effort must now be to stop associating with the pagan idolaters in any and every way imagineable.

These must be first because we cannot survive without them. What happened to Brendan Eich economically is coming by legislative fiat to your and my careers too. And if you think these pagan idolaters are finished, just sample one of hundreds of stories being published bellyaching about all the atrocities being committed against homosexuals still. The war has begun, they shot first and all that remains is to learn who the demonic CIC ala Lincoln is who will lead the armies raised to put down Vendee style refusals to comply.

For those who read this essay and think it is a call to action against homosexuals, nothing could be less true. Catholics must be reminded what the Church teaching on homosexuality actually is and to practice it but keep the Love.

“Nonetheless, according to the teaching of the Church, men and women with homosexual tendencies “must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided”. They are called, like other Christians, to live the virtue of chastity. The homosexual inclination is however “objectively disordered” and homosexual practices are “sins gravely contrary to chastity”.

The Church teaches that respect for homosexual persons cannot lead in any way to approval of homosexual behaviour or to legal recognition of homosexual unions. The common good requires that laws recognize, promote and protect marriage as the basis of the family, the primary unit of society. Legal recognition of homosexual unions or placing them on the same level as marriage would mean not only the approval of deviant behaviour, with the consequence of making it a model in present-day society, but would also obscure basic values which belong to the common inheritance of humanity. The Church cannot fail to defend these values, for the good of men and women and for the good of society itself.”
