(Channeling Sgt. Pepper) “It Was 29 Years Ago Today, The KingDude Taught Himself To Say… – 26 years ago, today, on a rainy, dreary Monday morning at 8:07 a.m., I began what we call today The Mike Church Show. It was a 2 hour long, 1 man homily that was produced by WSLA manager Jim Summers. The theme song for the show back then was The Eagles The Long Run which would be replaced in 1999 by Ted Nugent’s Damn Yankees Don’t Tread on Me.

Here’s a novelty – today, you can actually LISTEN To The Mike Church RADIO Show for FREE!

Here’s some little known trivia about the show.

My first guest was GOP Representative Bob Livingston who would briefly become Speaker of The House in 2000.

The first call I ever took on air was from a listener in St Rose, LA whose name was Randy.

There is a reason, and I had nothing to do with it, that the name The KingDude was bespoke upon me, read the story here.

My first show on Sirius Satellite Radio was in November of 2001 on what was called The Yak! Channel.

The first MCS Show broadcast on Sirius Satellite Radio as an exclusive was on 10 March, 2003.

The Last MCS Show on SiriusXM Satellite Radio was on 26 October, 2015.

Over 26 years in this business you get to meet a lot of people and do a lot of things others may only dream of and then the reality of talking to walls for 3-4 hours per day, 5 days a week rains on the dream; but its a good, gentle rain that should humiliate in the good sense of the word. Thanks for reading this and being part of those 26 years. I don’t know how many more Our Lord will bless me the privilege to perform but I stand at his beck and call!

Before he was TKD he was plain old Mike Church on WBT 1110 in Charlotte, NC, photo circa October, 1999.
