Defying God’s Love For Chastity Before Marriage, There’s An App For That – There is nothing LESS natural than an app called “Natural Cycles” that purports to help fornicating women chart their fertility and thus know when going all Sex And The City is “safe”. Problem is, the app has a failure rate and some users are, wait for it, becoming pregnant! Note the wording of the app maker’s response to this “crisis”.

“In a statement to SVT, Natural Cycles said: “No contraception is 100 per cent and unwanted pregnancies is an unfortunate risk with any contraception.” [Emphasis mine]

The statement should read there is an “unfortunate risk with any fornication” because its not the app’s fault, it’s the fornicator’s fault. The very idea that an “app” gives license to willy nilly hedonism is as sad a sign of our wretched times than anything else.

DeceptiCONNED: The War-Hawks Have Quietly Taken, One Trump Tower –  Kelly Beaucar Vlahos has a must-read exposé on who the new kids on the block are singing “…better governing the world through the ‘Murican Military Empire, yeah, yeah, yeah, and we get opulently rich while the bombs fly, yeah, yeah, yeah!” For example, two new names have joined the band but they sing from the same old song book.

“This was [Nadia] Schadlow’s first position in government. Her résumé includes doctoral degrees from Johns Hopkins Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) under the tutelage of vocal Never Trumper and Iraq war promoter Eliot Cohen, who runs the largely neoconservative Strategic Studies program there, and whose last book, The Big Stick: The Limits of Soft Power, argued that the U.S., backed by a more robust military, must be the “guardian of a stable world order.” In that vein, Schadlow published a book last year, War and the Art of Governance, that extols the virtues of long-term military intervention for “achieving sustainable political outcomes,” requiring “the consolidation of combat gains through the establishment of stable environments.” [emphasis mine, MC]

So the Trump foreign policy has gone from ‘;Murica first to ‘Muricah first in the rest of the planet’s affairs. But don’t worry, you won’t have to pay for it, thanks to the recently passed tax bill, your kids and mine will. Who will be around then to “make ‘Murica great again”?

The Truth Will Set You Free But You’d Have To Hear It To Know That – If you have tried to get your friends and family members to listen to reason on the crumbling state of our culture and have been met with 70 foot tall, iron and mortar walls as a defense, you are not alone. I’ve met both pastors before, and these are solid guys. And I’ve heard this over and over from other pastors, all over the country: people don’t want to know.“

They don’t want to know because they would then have to deal with it but we must be vigilant in our efforts to reach them and remain cheerful in that effort. Leviathan Will Taketh Away – It is beginning to dawn on some “Christian” universities that sans President Trump’s delaying the inevitable, the monstrous federal Leviathan’s courts are going to make universities stop teaching the faith where it contradicts the faith that is ‘Muricanism. Carl Trueman warns that Title IX civil rights funding will be the camel’s nose under the tent that causes this relationship twixt federal funding of student loans and “faith-based” universities to crash and burn and then…?

“Thus, for Christian educational institutions, the way ahead may be very hard. It will not simply be a matter of budgeting without federal loans. It could easily become a matter of budgeting without not-for-profit status. DeceptiCONS Strike Back: “Liberalism Is Star Spangled Awesome, Mitter Deneen” – It had to happen, the DeceptiCON assault on Patrick Deneen’s Why Liberalism Failed (hear my interview with Deneen here) as a whiny, poorly conceived view of ‘Muricah’s moral problems, has been written. Such is the view of David Brooks, the resident “moderate” conservative at the NY Times. Brooks doesn’t mince words and gets to the point halfway through his screed:

“Deneen’s book is valuable because it focuses on today’s central issue. The important debates now are not about policy. They are about the basic values and structures of our social order. Nonetheless, he is wrong. Liberal democracy has had a pretty good run for 300 years. If the problem were really in the roots, wouldn’t it have shown up before now?”

Ummm, you mean like in the “peculiar institution” of slavery? You mean in the death of 840,00 during the war of Northern Aggression? You mean in providing intellectual protection i.e. “freedom of speech” to the likes of Margaret Sanger and other eugenicists whose theories wqould be tried out on Germany and the rest of Europe during Hitler’s reign? Yes, David, Liberalism has had its trial run, been found wanting and in need of finding a resting place in history’s ash bin.

The latest Threat To Humanity? Humanity! – Folks you just can’t make this stuff up. A writer named Kristen Pyszczyk attempts to demonstrate that women who choose to have large families are actually the greatest threat to the future of humanity than globe-killing asteroids.

Procreation is becoming a global public health concern, rather than a personal decision. So when people do irresponsible things like having five children, we absolutely need to be calling them out.

Pryszczyk goes on to explain that because Stephen Hawking has pronounced Earth as too populated and in need of a “sister planet” to which we can save the planet by shipping 8 billion souls to, we should begin population control now by shaming women who dare to have more than the 2.5 “approved” children benchmark.

“Google furnishes a large number of internal mailing lists catering to employees with alternative lifestyles, including furries, polygamy, transgenderism, and plurality, for the purpose of discussing sexual topics. The only lifestyle that seems to not be openly discussed on Google’s internal forums is traditional heterosexual monogamy.”

Rachel Stolzfoos has a rundown of the 19 MOST crazy practices Damore catalogued at google. If you’ll recall it was Damore who blew the whistle on these practices after he appealed to his boss that he was being excluded, thus discriminated, against. What ensued was the inmates running the asylum that is google, turned as a mob against Damore, thus the suit. Rod Dreher puts why this is important into context. “Consider the power that Google has, and is acquiring more and more of as it strengthens its position as the primary gateway to knowledge and information. And this is the corporate culture at Google, this hive of hateful progressivism.”

Buchanan: Little Rocket Man Wins Round 1 VS President Trump – If you’ve been sentenced to watch the insane echo chamber that Fox News has become then you know that “NOKO” (their term) nearly exterminated all of ‘Murican life at least 40 times in the last 9 months. What Could Top The Trumpzilla Campaign? We Have Nothing Everything To Fear Including Except Fear Itself – ‘Muricah has reached the point of peak fear. A condition easily seen by looking for the pathological fear of something that nearly everyone has (this is just another good reason to pray for imperturbability!). Peter van Buren thinks these fears are illogical and irrational, and he’s right.

“Now there is a fear for everyone. We’re afraid Trump will start a war with North Korea (Kim is the sane one). We’re also afraid he won’t start a war and they’ll get us first (Kim is the crazy one). We’re afraid Trump is a Russian spy slipped into the White House (end of democracy) and we’re afraid the Democrats are using Mueller to overturn a legitimate election (end of democracy)… Elect more women or women’s rights are finished. If we do elect more women (or POC, LGBTQ, etc.) the rest of us are finished.” [emphasis mine-MC]

Van Burne’s conclusion is that one of these fears will ultimately result in physical action being demanded and then being taken in the form of decisively suppressing the cause of one of these anxieties.

The Ongoing Crisis Of Liberalism Is What CRUSADERS To Restore Order Crave – Patrick Deneen, a guest of the Mike Church Show, has a new book out called Why Liberalism Failed. I believe that the basis for the book was well covered in my 90 minute long interview with Patrick last February. Gene Callahan has read the book (Deneen will appear on Thursday’s show!) and makes some observations on it that apply to the CRUSADER response to our current pickle. That our actions must be actions and not theories.

“Deneen recognizes that what is most needed are new practices and not simply new theories. The basic error of all three modern ideologies is the idea that practical life can be conducted on a theoretical basis. Deneen’s conclusions track with TAC writer Rod Dreher’s call for a new “Benedict Option.” Both argue that those aware of the breakdown of the “liberal world order” must first and foremost strive to create practical, not theoretical, alternatives to the liberal society crumbling around them.” [Emphasis mine-MC]

This is what drives our Return to Order, the PRACTICAL application of living the Gospels as best as is possible AS our primary vocation in life. This is what the Mike Church Show and CRUSADE Channel strive to promote in all that we broadcast. Thus, our broadcasts are products of that change in vocational direction and ordering: God first, radio second. It may sound simple, but try to fully implement it in your vocation and you will rapidly be apprised of just how incompatible most of modern, ‘Murican life is with our Christian vocation.

Elevating The Glory Of The Person, Not The Individual – Conservatism is, in John Adams’ memorable phrasing, the most “hackneyed word” of our modern era. How many forests filled with trees splashed with tanker ships loaded with ink have been employed to explain and define the term, to “make it relevant to our time”!? I maintain that “conservatism”, rightly understood, is learning the traditions and religious devotions – meaning Catholic devotions – that made “the west” the “shining city on a hill”. But that city isn’t the one of Reagan’s prose or of the Puritan’s dreams, it is the city described 1500 years ago by my patron Saint Augustine in City of God. Brad Birzer, God bless him, continues to explore this very question in comparing the conservatism of Russell Kirk and now Robert Nisbett. For my reading money I think Nisbett gets the nod here for his 8 tenets of conservatism.

“First, the primacy of religion in the life of any people. No mere accidental or materialist thing, religion, more than anything else, ties together natural associations and intermediary institutions, allowing and even encouraging virtue, ethical behavior, and trust. Second, the centrality of the natural two-parent family as not only pre-political but also as the basis of all stability in society.”

Paul Bunyan Is A Real, ‘Murican Legend, Steve Bannon Is a Breitbart Legend – There is a consistent strain that runs through the biographies of “kingmakers”: their identity is rarely known and they never deign to be the king they made. As Barbara Boland explains, that is not the storyline that Steve Bannon followed or is following and its worth a read.

“Unlike the sly and self-deprecating ways of history’s great kingmakers, Bannon was well-known for his brazen interview forays into the media. His website Breitbart happily credited itself with every electoral victory and after Trump’s win declared war on “establishment” Republicans in office. They congratulated themselves with developing the intellectual underpinnings of “Trumpism” and populism, and named themselves the driving force behind Trump’s agenda.”

I have some experience with Breitbart and Bannon, as I have detailed since I left SiriusXM, they worked tirelessly behind the scenes to install Steve as my replacement because they coveted what I had built (this is the Breitbart MO). This was all done without so much as a “how you doin'” from them in the 3 years they were turned to as my fill-in hosts. Put another way, we were never “colleagues” as they were plotting dominion from the get-go and Steve was that Thomas The Tank Engine’s engineer.

Joseph Pearce: The Fall of Mayberry – When you think of the Andy Griffith Show you can’t help but think of the black and white iconography of the town of Mayberry, Floyd the barber, the inimitable Don Knotts’ Barney Fife and of course Sheriff Taylor’s family. As Pearce notes though, the show took a 60’s, progressive turn toward the vulgarity of the revolt against order and never recovered.

Hello, I’m From The Trump Administration And I’m Here To Help – I talked about this on the first show of 2018: President Trump has delivered on some of what he said he would including the omnipotently important protection of innocent life. He has also followed through on taking a meat cleaver to the EPA’s war against coal and most recently announced plans to expand offshore oil exploration in every major waterway including the Gulf of Mexico and the Arctic Ocean. Ryan Girdusky points out that Trump has also been taking federal regulations to the paper shredder at a pace never before seen. But before you start doing the wave around the break room table understand that the $4.5 TRILLION headed hydra that is the federal beast is set to expand under Trump and the MIC’s growth is frightening.

FINALLY! Someone Other Than Me Calls Real Men To Real Battle With Real Rosaries In Hand – I was beginning to think I’d die the “lone voice crying in the wilderness” against the misguided idea that those practicing a Franciscan/Dominican/Augustinian (insert Church Doctor/Father name here) can peacefully co-exist with the emerging sodomite states or for that matter any state practicing liberalism. Adrian Vermeule is a professor of law at Harvard of all places and he just so happens to be an orthodox Catholic with a big mouth (a fellow traveler!).

“There is no reason to think that a stable, long-term rapprochement between Catholicism and the liberal state is realistically feasible, whether or not it would be desirable; nor should Catholics allow themselves to become ultimately attached to any particular time, place or human political order.” [emphasis mine]

But Vermeule isn’t finished with his CRUSADER manifesto. Setting his sights on the resident doyenne’s of approved Catholic intellectual thinking, The NY Time’s Ross Douthat and the editor of First Things RR Reno, Vermeule says what is crying to be said and then defended. If you live in ‘Muricah, in 2017, count your allies carefully and know that they are in a precarious minority that is at war with a diabolical majority that rejects living a Catholic life, in accordance with ‘Murican law and diabolical custom, as a non sequitir.

“It would also be foolish to trust that those forces will not again be in the ascendancy, with the capacity to bring decisive force to bear. The Trump administration, crippled by moral compromises, almost certainly amounts to merely a temporary respite. Douthat betrays a misunderstanding of political science when he puts his trust in the law and the judiciary in general and Kennedy in particular. Sooner or later, and probably sooner, political control over judicial appointments means that judicial views will inevitably be brought into conformity with the views of the wider society, which in the America of 2018 are increasingly dismissive of central tenets of Catholic doctrine.”

Read the whole thing here. I continue to maintain that we shouldn’t care about the numerical values of our “movement”, instead resolve to make a common petition through daily rosaries and regular fasting and prayer. (I know, sounds so “desert father” doesn’t it).

If You Can’t Beat ‘Em, Outbreed ‘Em – Under current law (we’re not ChiCom’s yet) ‘Murican women may still have as many children as they and their husbands like (yes, I include husbands in this imitation of the Holy Family) and families that freely cooperate with God’s design have lots of children (yay big families!). This means, mathematically speaking, that those couples cooperating with God’s grace and raising large families, home-schooling, church attending etc. are OUTBREEDING the minions of Moloch.

It is now being repeated by some because it is True which leads to 3. When Machiavelli Runs Out Of Ammo, You Get Trumpzilla’d – I just read then re-read President Trump’s statement in response to claims made by Steve Bannon in Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury book about the Trump White House’s early days. Whether Bannon told Wolff the truth or not we may never know but we do know this: Bannon will have no future influencing Trump’s presidential decisions save for which newspaper to kindle fires with. But there’s a much larger elephant in this room that McCombs has reminded me of: the fact that men can be considered as targets to be “hunted” says everything you need to know about society’s principal error today: masculinity has all but become extinct. Pullman gently corrects McCombs but doesn’t quite get to the real point and problem.

“It is not okay to target men simply for being men. This is a basic concept important to courtesy and respecting the human dignity of all people equally.”

The problem is, respecting human dignity is NOT a basic human courtesy because there is no such thing. There is the command of Christ that the dignity of each human soul is to be respected i.e. “what you do to these little ones” and thus what is missing in McCombs rant is CHRISTIAN dignity.

“[I]n her 44-page opinion, Beetlestone concluded the Trump administration lacked the authority under the ACA to exempt employers from its birth control, abortifacient, and sterilization mandate. She also held the mandate did not substantially burden religious objectors’ rights and, in turn, did not violate the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.”

Well, if the Trump Adminsitration doesn’t have executive prerogative to enforce the ACA, then who does, Judge Bettlejuice? The Bureau of Land Management? Planned Parenthood? And if this heinous, what I call “insure to kill order” doesn’t violate religious consciouses, then what in Margaret Sanger’s name will!? More reason folks, that the separation of us from This State must happen. The Feds AND some States are basically saying that baby-killing is now part of the Constitutional “order”. When the NR starts publishing features that actively, as opposed to metaphoric, identify a robust and dominant Catholicism as the antidote to ‘Muricah and the West’s ills, an event horizon for the future is at hand.
