Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Remember in the opening remarks, I mentioned when you see film footage on the news today or tonight or whenever of the madness that’s happening in Egypt and you see buildings burning off in the distance, there’s a very good chance that the building that is burning was a fire that was intentionally set by Islamic Muslim Brotherhood lunatics, and that the building in question is probably a Christian or Catholic church.  But nothing to see here, citizen, move along.  Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mike:  In order of the stories that we have here on the items I just talked about, let’s go to this one first, “Muslim Brotherhood Burns Churches, Scapegoats Christians Following Crackdown.”  Remember in the opening remarks, I mentioned when you see film footage on the news today or tonight or whenever of the madness that’s happening in Egypt and you see buildings burning off in the distance, there’s a very good chance that the building that is burning was a fire that was intentionally set by Islamic Muslim Brotherhood lunatics, and that the building in question is probably a Christian or Catholic church.  But nothing to see here, citizen, move along.  We don’t care if they’re rounding up Christians and killing them in Egypt, do we?  Let’s send them another $80 billion, shall we?  What was the last traunch, $1.8 billion?  This is John Rossomando reporting:

Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority has become a favorite target for Muslim Brotherhood supporters and other radical Islamists across the country in the wake of the military’s decision to clear supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi from their Cairo sit-ins this morning.

No sooner did security forces, backed by armored cars and bulldozers, clear encampments in the city’s Nadha and Raba’a al Adiwiya squares did the Islamists turn to targeting Christian churches. Approximately 1,000 Muslim Brotherhood supporters set fire to the Churches of Abraham and the Virgin Mary in Menya.

article-v-pamphlet-adAngry mobs also targeted churches, monasteries and other church properties in Alexandria, Suez and a number of other cities in Upper Egypt, according to Egypt’s Al-Ahram.

Muslim Brotherhood members also firebombed Mar Geergiss Church, the main Coptic church in the southern Egyptian city of Sohag, burning it to the ground. Islamists had previously raised an al-Qaida flag over the church. St. Theresa Church in Assiut in Upper Egypt was also burned.

“It is a climate of violence,” he added, “and the people are scared,” Father Rafic Greiche, a Catholic Church spokesman in Egypt, told Vatican Radio.

Sixteen Coptic churches had been torched by pro-Morsi mobs, including several ancient ones, the Egyptian blogger “Big Pharoah” wrote in a Twitter post.

Brotherhood supporters blame the Copts for toppling former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi [Mike: Really, you blame them of all people to blame? They don’t have a large enough number to have effected that kind of a change inside Egypt.] because Coptic Pope Tawadros II backed the military’s July 3 move to oust him….

Coptic priests and laymen have been killed, churches have been burned or scrawled with anti-Christian graffiti by Islamic militants across Egypt in the past month.

“These guys have been blowing places up and killing people in Sinai. They’ve been attacking churches all over Egypt – putting al-Qaida flags and Morsi’s pictures on churches, so there is no question that the Brotherhood are the new terrorists,” Michael Meunier, president of Egypt’s Al-Haya Party and a Coptic Christian, said regarding the violent Islamist attacks against Christians since Morsi’s fall.

Just last week, a 10-year-old Coptic girl was shot dead by Islamic militants on her way home from Bible school. Muslim extremists tossed firebombs through the windows of four Christian homes and a local church last Sunday to stop a Christian neighbor from building a speed bump in front of her home. The clash left 15 people wounded.

But if you ask some Muslim Brotherhood leaders about Christian-Muslim relations, things have never been better.

road-to-independence-BH-RTIDE2-detailEgypt’s military moved on Islamist protesters Wednesday and dozens of people died in the fighting. It’s a tragedy for all involved. But the Islamists’ reaction – to attack a Christian minority that might comprise 10 percent of the country’s population – is an outrage that exposes the depravity of their thinking. Scapegoating, conspiracy theories and attacks on innocent bystanders. They all show the hollowness of Dardery’s platitudes and what the Brotherhood really believes about Egypt’s Coptic Christians.

Mike:  Why is the Muslim Brotherhood in line to get any American dollars, someone might ask?  I’ll ask the question.  Daniel Larison asks this question at American Conservative Magazine blog last night.  Here’s his answer, “Cut Egypt Loose.”

Marc Lynch reacts to the latest violence in Egypt:

With blood in Egypt’s streets and a return to a state of emergency, it’s time for Washington to stop pretending. Its efforts to maintain its lines of communication with the Egyptian military, quietly mediate the crisis, and help lay the groundwork for some new, democratic political process have utterly failed. Egypt’s new military regime, and a sizable and vocal portion of the Egyptian population, have made it very clear that they just want the United States to leave it alone. For once, Washington should give them their wish. As long as Egypt remains on its current path, the Obama administration should suspend all aid, keep the embassy in Cairo closed, and refrain from treating the military regime as a legitimate government.

Mike Church Show Transcript – It’s Like American Idol For Middle East Rulers And America Is The Judge

Mike:  But that’s exactly what the United States Senate did just two weeks ago.  If you are in your automobile right now and on your way to work and you pay your taxes, you are subsidizing this.  If you are taking a shower with your Sirius XM bathroom radio, or iPhone smartphone connection and are streaming us over the WiFi and you’re getting ready to go to work, know before you get in the car or on the bus or however it is you get to work, you are subsidizing this.  As I read this to you today, I am subsidizing this madness.  I don’t want to but I am.

Despite my efforts to the contraire and many of your efforts to the contraire, we have a ship of State that is totally and wholly irresponsible and reckless and unresponsive to the demands the citizenry is putting on it today.  Does anyone believe that a majority of states, if it were put to a vote — the vote in the Senate was 81.  It was 80 percent to 20 percent for —

AG:  Eighty-six.

Mike:  Eighty-six?  Eighty-six!

AG:  Eighty-six was the latest one I think the last day of July.

Mike:  Wow!  I knew it was in the 80s, but I was giving them the benefit of the doubt.  Does anyone believe, listening to this radio broadcast right now, that if it were put to a vote in any state of the United States, that 86 percent of the citizenry would respond in the affirmative that they wished to continue being taxed so that a portion of what they are being taxed for, or even worse, so that a portion of what their children are going to earn a decade in the future can be sent to madmen killing Christians in Egypt?  Let’s break it down by state.  That means that there is a maximum 14 voting against it.  That would equal seven states in the extremity.  At the most out of 50 states, you would have seven saying no to the funding.  Does anyone believe that 43 states, were this put to a referendum, would return a ballot in the affirmative for this madness to continue with our approbation and our financial assistance?  What in the hell is going on here?

When I talk about how the ship of State cannot be altered, this is a prime example.  Those senators met and decided to do what they wanted to do on their own, almost as a screw you to the peasants out here that can’t possibly know, [mocking] “You can’t possibly know the things that are at stake.  You have no idea.  You don’t know what you’re talking about.”  I know this, I know that our involvement and our intervention in these affairs has not delivered the peace, tranquility, constitutional democracies that we were told it would, that would spare all of us from the threat of terrorist violence.  That was the raison d’être, that was the reason for being or the primary reason why we must do this and why we must continue.  Folks, I don’t know about you.  I don’t buy it.

So what are you going to do?  The State of Louisiana can’t recall our senators.  You people that live in other states can’t recall your senators.  The senators are not going to be responsive to the legislatures, which is the way it used to be before the passage of the 17th amendment.  What is there to do?  What can you do about this?  There are obviously greater forces at work here than protecting the lives and liberties of the peoples of the United States.  Who is it that these senators are acting on behalf of, the question might be asked.  That’s worth probing to the depths, isn’t it?
