Mandeville LA –The planet that we are blessed to inhabit does not have a thermostat on it for humans to set at

increased or decreased “global” temperatures. But don’t tell that to the witch doctors working for the hilariously mis-titled Natural Resources Defense Council or the Sierra Club which spends most of its time suing people in places that aren’t the Sierras. We must be reminded of these common sense facts after politicians and their henchmen decide to grab some wealth that doesn’t currently belong to them by revving up the “climate change house of horrors”. This ritual resembles the human sacrifices the Aztecs and Mayans performed to pacify their “weather gods” with the notable exception that hundreds of millions will suffer the economic equivalent of ripped out, still beating hearts and decapitated heads.

Last Friday, the Director of the EPA scaled the top of the sacrifice pyramid to inform the peasants below that the President’s scientist buddies at the UN had determined that global CO2 levels would reach the point where oceans of boiling water would flood the land, turning humans into freshly cooked crawfish and the land into a uninhabitable pool of acid. There are more problems with this science fiction than I have time for but here are 3.
1. We have an 800,000 year record of CO2 levels spiking higher every 100,000 years then returning to pre-spike levels.
2. In between those spikes it gets cold. REALLY cold, actually an ice-age and everytime the ice melts.
3. These ice-ages coincide with the Earth’s orbit changing because of cosmic events such as our proximity to giant planets like Jupiter.

Knowing this, why should we think that there is anything we can do to change those cycles let alone control the temperature they affect? Why should humans have to forego the pleasures of living on Earth, like electricity, when the recurring Ice-Age isn’t around to spoil the fun?
