Mandeville, LA – David Simpson stopped by for another Wisdom Wednesday, politics and philosophy cocktail garnished with some poor impersonations of Brother Francis. David backed up my reasoning on Stones being more meaningful than Islam, applying the Philosophy of highest purpose to annihilate the argument. We then turned our attention to the 2016 field of candidates for the GOP nomination and their cliched, flawed harmony on economic solutions to all our problems.

Ted Cruz and Rand Paul were singled out as the standouts because of their Austrian scholarship but I tempered that with Austrian economics fatal flaw: it makes no room for moral ethics and Christian behavior aka Solidarity. If we understand that everything created has a purpose and the things that influence Man’s behavior the HIGHEST purpose this makes total sense; otherwise we flounder about as “capitalists”, elevating “The Market” into an ersatz religious faith.

The last call of the day went to Jordan from SC who wanted to explode the Thomistic theory of Purpose by informing us that “electrons don’t have a purpose, they may be part of A purpose but they have no purpose, therefore science slaughters your silly little philosophic theories and reminds us of why our elite, scientist, ruling masters were correct to abolish Philosophia Perennis and invade Iraq” (ok, I embellished that a bit).
