Luther’s Protestantism 500 Years On: It’s The “Ism” We’re At War With

Mandeville, LA – The greatest question facing us today as fallen members of the race of men created by God is thus: what is the proper order of this race’s organization that God would recognize as correct. The short answer is the order of Christ The King, last seen in the 13th century (but don’t worry, Man has progressed!).

I am at war with protestantISM; protestants et al are just the visible symptoms of the disease; I am in the fight against disease not the infected.”

Marking the 500 year anniversary of Luther’s revolt, this is The Question the Catholic faithful are called to answer correctly and then act accordingly. Failure to do so guarantees, as far as our temporal powers go, another 500 years of decay from the order that saw its peak in the 13th century. While it is true that Luther’s path was blazed by heretic thinkers long before he declared that liberty must include liberty to form one’s own conscience of faith. It was Luther’s diabolical appeal to the baseness baked into Man after The Fall that began the march to religious anarchy we are possessed by today.

This is why, when I am asked “why are you so angry with Protestants, lately”!?, I respond “I most certainly am not! I am at war with protestantISM; protestants et al are just the visible symptoms of the disease; I am in the fight against disease not the infected.” Pius XI knew that the disease of the protest had progressed beyond where Leo XII and Pius X had thought it already to be lethal and pleaded with the clergy to rally the faithful before it was too late.

“But if the faithful were generally to understand that it behooves them ever to fight courageously under the banner of Christ their King, then, fired with apostolic zeal, they would strive to win over to their Lord those hearts that are bitter and estranged from him, and would valiantly defend his rights.”

Pius XI has much more to say on the subject but let it be known that as I have previously spoken and written, gentlemen may no longer contend themselves with the lukewarm platitudes of being “a catholic” and must orient their lives to the order of The Kingship of Christ as their primary vocation.  First a brief history of the feast of The Kingship of Christ.

The feast of Domini Nostri Jesu Christi Regis, the Feast Our Lord Jesus Christ The King. On 11 December, 1925 Pope Pius XI released his encyclical Quas Primas and established the feast of the Kingship of Christ as the last Sunday in October prior to All Saints and All Souls Day. His Holiness wrote:

[I have previously written of] the chief causes of the difficulties under which mankind was laboring. And We remember saying that these manifold evils in the world were due to the fact that the majority of men had thrust Jesus Christ and his holy law out of their lives; that these had no place either in private affairs or in politics: and we said further, that as long as individuals and states refused to submit to the rule of our Savior, there would be no really hopeful prospect of a lasting peace among nations. Men must look for the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ; and that We promised to do as far as lay in Our power.”

His Holiness concluded with an exhortation.

“If to Christ our Lord is given all power in heaven and on earth; if all men, purchased by his precious blood, are by a new right subjected to his dominion; if this power embraces all men, it must be clear that not one of our faculties is exempt from his empire.”

In Pope St. John XXIII’s revision of the Calendar in 1960, the date and title were unchanged but, according to the simplification of the ranking of feasts, it was classified as a feast of the first class.

In 1931, the great priest & philosopher Fr. Dennis Fahey summed this up succinctly in the Preface of his magnum opus: The Mystical Body of Christ AND The Reorganization of Society.

The reaction against the organized propagation of Naturalism will demand an integral grasp of our corporate oneness with Christ. We come into union with Our Lord not as isolated individuals but as members of a supernatural organism, the Mystical Body of Christ. Each baptized Christian enters into an interior vital relation with Christ through being incorporated into the organism of which Christ is the invisible Head. Or, to express it more in accordance with reality, Christ unites each baptized Christian with Himself by incorporating him or her into a living organism, of which He is the invisible Head. That organism, supernatural and supranational, is destined to permeate the whole social life of States and Nations with the spirit of supernatural solidarity in Christ.

In one sentence Father Fahey, with near mathematical precision, defines the deadly error then in the next prescribes the cure.

Of course, the end aimed at by this supernatural organism in its permeation of society is the development of the individual member’s personality through interior union with Christ. But the individual member will develop his interior personal life only in proportion as he forgets self for the sake of the Head and the whole Body. All of us. as members of Christ, must strive to realize the fulness of St. Paul’s expression: “I live, now not I; but Christ liveth in me ” (Gal., II. 20).
In the physical body an individual member can attain its full development only by fulfilling its function in perfect subjection to the head and in complete harmony with the other members, thus co-operating for the good of the whole body, so analogously in the Mystical Body of Christ, an individual member must, as it were, lose himself in order to find himself really. Many Catholics, unconsciously influenced by Protestant individualism, not only consider themselves as imitating Christ, our Model, from outside, so to say, but regard themselves as having an isolated individual relation with Christ. They do not bring home to themselves sufficiently that all Christ’s members form one organism under Christ, battling for the divine order of the world, and that they can grow up in Christ, only by supplying their quotas of self-sacrifice in their places in the supernatural organism of His Mystical Body.

Think about it. What king of antiquity can be named that justly ruled a plural people i.e. “I am a subject through King Johnson’s rule on gold and silver coin as legal tender but In am not a subject through his rule on the ownership of farm lands.” You can immediately see the absurdity of this simple error that if left unchecked will divide into more errors derived from the first. “I am not a subject of the King’s rule on ground silver packed into transparent plastic containers.”

Other Catholics seem to be unconsciously influenced by the Lutheran separation of the Christian and the Citizen and consider their spiritual life as a purely interior relation with Christ. The spiritual life is, as it were, sectioned off from ordinary everyday life. They are in danger of allowing the world around them to be organized against Our Lord’s programme for order, while they continue to practise their religion more or less unconcernedly. They do not sufficiently realize that we enter into vital relation with Christ through being incorporated into a visible organism and that we must take as the starting-point of our spiritual life the objective fact of this incorporation. We must not initiate our spiritual life by the soul’s looking at itself somewhat after the subjective fashion in which Descartes started intellectual life. The spiritual life is not the life of a “soul,” but the life of a member of Christ, composed of soul and body, occupying a place in an organic unity destined to mould the world for Christ. [emphasis mine – MC]

Pope Pius XI in Quas Primas makes the point as plain as it can be made.

“[T]hese manifold evils in the world were due to the fact that the majority of men had thrust Jesus Christ and his holy law out of their lives; that these had no place either in private affairs or in politics: and we said further, that as long as individuals and states refused to submit to the rule of our Savior, there would be no really hopeful prospect of a lasting peace among nations. Men must look for the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ; and that We promised to do as far as lay in Our power….If to Christ our Lord is given all power in heaven and on earth; if all men, purchased by his precious blood, are by a new right subjected to his dominion; if this power embraces all men, it must be clear that not one of our faculties is exempt from his empire.”

Father Fahey charts the correct order as it appeared in the 13th century at the apex of Christendom.

Has that order ever been realized in the world to any great extent? Yes. The thirteenth century, the high-water mark in man’s acceptance of the order established by God, saw Catholic Europe organized in the way we may attempt to represent diagrammatically as follows:

GOD
(As He Is In Himself).

^

OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

^

(Invisible Head Of His Mystical Body ——-The Catholic Church).

^

Each Nation aiming at the Temporal Prosperity of its subjects so
as to not hinder but favour the attaining their final end —–Union
with God in His Inner Supernatural Life.

After Luther’s revolt the order of Christendom began to fracture and produced this arrangement of order.

?

^

OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
(No Longer, However, as Source or Intrinsic
Principle of Life of the Mystical Body).

^

Each individual, by a human act of blind confidence, is certain that the
justice of Christ is imputed to him, the one True Visible Church
through which alone (in re or in voto) one becomes a member
of the Mystical Body being done away with.
